HARD FEELINGS[Feb 19 , 2017 1:30 pm]
Midnight purposely missed Grey's calls. For some reason she felt resentment and a bit of disappointment in Grey.
She knew she had no right, but would it have killed him to atleast say 'hi Midnight! How were you?' Maybe this made Midnight "pikon" (sensitive) but she couldn't help it. She genuinely liked Grey and felt like he was slipping farther from her.
She knew that not answering his calls and texts created a further gap between them, but she felt tired. Of what, she was unsure, but life was slipping out of her grasp. She felt as if all she ever did was contemplate on her and Grey. As if, that was her life now. This is her.
She liked Grey. A lot. But didn't wanted to only talk about him. She had a life. She liked things, enjoyed doing stuff. But that all seemed to halt when she was near or around Grey.
That's all she ever talks about now 'Grey, Grey,Grey, Grey' it was frustrating to see herself fall putty for someone. She missed herself. She missed doing things without thinking, 'does Grey approve?'
'Will Grey like it?'
'I probably shouldn't do this, he might be disappointed'Grey did not do anything to make her feel this way. She was merely disappointed in herself, but did not want to admit it.
So now, here she was in the coffee shop were they first met, trying to regain her senses. Trying to regain herself back.
"Midnight."
Midnight looked up and met the same dark brown eyes she's grown accustomed of. And she hated herself more when she felt her control slip away from her.
"Grey."
Grey glanced at the petite Filipina who had paper splattered everywhere. Her eyes didn't dance with the same twinkle when she saw him. It danced with something else. Something he couldn't decipher.
"Do you want anything?"
Midnight felt guilt rise up to her. Grey had no idea what she was about to do yet here he was, treating her as a friend. A human being. Her self-control was slipping fast by the minute and she knew she had to get it out or else.
She'd never say it.
"No. Please sit down."
Midnight was always an affectionate person. But her tone was so condensing it make Grey uneasy. Her words were gentle, in fact, it was something she would always say. But the way she expressed it, with her eyes dull and mouth in a straight line, it made him nervous.
"Princess, what's wrong?"
Shit.
She knew she had to get it out, she was losing grip by every word, every movement she did. And she hated it.
"Grey.."
Grey looked at her, worry clearly displaying in his eyes. Was it something he did? He wanted to apologize to Midnight despite not knowing what she was upset about. If he needed to, he would.
Anything for her.
"Midnight. Is it something I did? I swear, I'm sorry. You know how clustered and busy I've been with work, and I know how you've been busy with school, and ayoko naman mag-bother sayo. I hope you know that I really value you and-" (I don't want to be a bother)
"Grey, I need a break."
