Midnight ignored the hot sun as she continued to cross the road.

It beamed on her endlessly, and despite wearing a light dress, she could still feel the perspiration fall off of her. She hated this.

But this was her home.

It had been so long since Midnight step foot in the Philippines. Her eyes widen with her beep of the jeepney and every sight of a tricycle.

Ice cream vendors and mini shops were opened alongside the road, considering it was already summer. Midnight could hear the echoes of children screaming and playing. She reminisced each childhood game she played before moving to America. She missed that. That feeling of childlike carelessness. The feeling of  being young again.

Midnight knew she wasn't that old, but it seemed as if her life had drifted by so quickly.

Not that it mattered.

She had Grey making her feel like a child all over again. She had Grey making her feel all giddy again. She had Grey making her feel like none of her childhood games could compare to what she had now.

She had Grey.

And that's all that mattered.

______

"Hey baby." Midnight felt her cheeks rose the moment Grey had his eyes on her. She always had to feel like this. Sometimes it irked her on how easy Grey made her feel things. Feel things like this. But overall she loved the butterflies that emerged from her. Especially when they came from Grey.

"Hi Grey." Her voice instantly placed Grey at a state of ease. He missed her a lot. Sure they talked and always kept each other updated but Grey missed the feel of Midnight's eyes staring directly at him and not glitching on screen.

"What have you been up to?" He joked tenderly as he watched her smile slightly. Her eyes cast downwards and revealed nothing.

Nothing to others but to Grey he knew something was up.

"Night..." He warned teasingly as she feigned innocence.

"Yes?" Her eyes glowed with a certain brightness tonight. Her smile held a secret Grey couldn't decipher and little did he know, her heart was pounding out of her ro cage, asking to be set free.

Free and into Grey's arms.

"Geez Grey, can't I just miss you?" Her lips pouted slightly making Grey heart's melt quicker than any ice under the hot sun. He immediately forgot to question her further and went to comfort her.
