"You okay?" Grey glanced at Midnight who gave him a tearful but soft smile.
"I'll be fine. It's just... Kyle... He's been a part of my life so long. I just wished he could accept you." She whispered softly while blowing her nose.
"He's probably just worried that you might let him go and forget him."
Grey had no idea why he was defending the insolent kid, but seeing Midnight's eyes lit up with hope gave him enough.
It would always be him and his Midnight whether that kid liked it or not. And the best thing to do was accept it.
"Grey... You think I'm a good friend, right?" Grey glanced at Midnight who avoided his eyes.
"You changed my every aspect, Night. If you think that isn't a reason why you're a good friend, I don't know anymore."
Midnight smiled tightly and looked away.
"You don't have to shut yourself from me too."
"I know... Grey... I just wanna thank you. For Always being there even when Kyle is a jerk to you."
Grey let out a hearty laugh as the soft voice of Matty Healy filled the car.
One thing was for sure, him and his Midnight where forever.
Whether they would just be friends and something more.
He would hold on onto the intrepid little thing and love her forever.
"Of course, Midnight."
