How do you get over a guy you never really knew?

Midnight sighed as she looked across the table, noticing how late it is. How long she's been wallowing in self-pity.

It was disgusting really. How clingy and attached she is to a guy who is not only miles apart but, worlds apart. To a guy she was pretty sure didn't care if she was still here or not. To a guy who didn't know her.

Midnight always fell in love easily. And whenever she fell, it was so hard for her to get up.

But Midnight knew how to pretend she was standing up even when her face was pushed into the hard dirty ground.

Midnight sighed again.

Grey.

She was absolutely sure he was gorgeous. She imagined him as the type who had mysterious dark eyes and a soft smile that could easily melt her into puddles.

But it didn't matter if he didn't look like this, whatever he looked like Midnight knew he would look perfect. It was too late for Midnight. She didn't knew when, she didn't knew how, but she liked him. And she was falling too fast.

"You know for a seventeen-year old girl....  You looked really stressed." Her mother teased as she entered the room with a soft smile. Her Filipino accent dripping out at the last word.

"Wala to ma." Midnight said looking away. (This is nothing mama)

"ANONG WALA! Obvious na obvious kaya Anak. May gusto ka pero ayaw mo SABIHIN Kung sino... Bakit?" Her mother retorted back. (WHAT DO YOU MEAN NOTHING! You're unbelievably obvious child, you like someone but you won't say who.... Why?)

"It's not a big deal, ma." Midnight said looking back at her mother who had a frown but said nothing.

Her mom simply stared at her, and then sighed.

"Night, nak". Her mom decided to settle with. Before turning away. ( night, child.)

"Night, ma"

Then her mother left. Like always.

the sudden ringing of her phone made Midnight stumbled into awareness.

She fell asleep without talking to him. Again.

It was as if Midnight's life was going back to normal. She was learning to move on. To move on from something that was blurry but somewhat a part of her.

It was crazy.

Her friends always told her how she was so easily attached to people. Whether to those who knew her, or to those who left her. Her mother would tell her that she was exactly like her father. And she would smile, saying, it didn't matter.

She wasn't laughing anymore.

Snapping from her thoughts, Midnight looked at her phone and scrunched her face up. It was just numbers. No name, no information, just numbers.
