Grey stared at his phone.
He's been doing this for the past 3 hours. Midnight had always called. And for the first time, she hasn't.
'Did I do something wrong?' Grey thought silently as he ignored the yawn that escaped his lips.
Grey knew he should just let it go. Maybe Midnight fell asleep, or she was doing a school project.
But Grey knew that wasn't like Midnight.
No matter how tired she could be, she would always send a little text or call him, even for just 5 minutes.
So Grey waited.
But she didn't call.

"Hello?" Grey asked containing a yawn. Work was over-stressing him, and the memory of Midnight non-existent call was unsettling.
"Yes, I would like two burgers, no pickles and-"
"Ma'am, for the last time this isn't a delivery number, this is an emergency hotline company."
"Yea, I know. I would like you to order for me."
Grey sighed, but continued anyways. "Ma'am. Please. Many people are actually in need. Maybe if you could-"
"Don't you service people? Help the ones in need? Well, I'm in need of a big burger,boy!" The woman shouted at Grey causing him to sigh and drop the phone.
"Another crazy one?" Jonas questioned while entering the office.
"Yup."
"Aw, cheer up,Grey, she'll call." Jonas said giving a comforting pat to Grey, causing him to smile.
"Thanks, dude."
"Don't mention it, I'm sure she'll call."

Grey laid his head on the table.
His eyes glanced around the room. People chattering and laughing, glasses clinking. Everything seemed like always.
Too bad he missed the bright young girl who was dancing and laughing along to the beat.
