It had been an hour since the rain started. Visibility has been totally cut off and we couldn't see anything in front of us.
"Hey! What the hell are we gonna do? We totally lost sight of everyone!" Isabel yelled over the roar of the rain.
"All we can do is keep moving! I'm sure we haven't gotten too far from the rest of the squad. We just have to keep going forward blindly and hope that this fog will clear up fast." Farlan said
"But the way things are going now, the flares are gonna be useless no matter how much time passes." Levi said still being cautious
"As long as squad leader Flagon's noise rounds still work, I bet we could find the others if we're lucky enough." Farlan said squinting for any hope of seeing anything.
"Our scouting capacity is ruined. Our field of vision is a few meters at the best. It's as if you can hear the titans' from every direction. You never know when one might show up. Keep your guards up." I said
"This is not good. If Erwin get's eaten by the titans, there's no way we can get our hands on those documents." Isabel said thinking about abandoning the mission all together
"The only way to steal them, is to go for the center..." Levi said
Suddenly, a sound was heard not very far away that sounded like it was from a noise round.
"Was that from our squad?" Farlan asked looking in the direction from where it came from
"It's not too far off. We can probably catch up with everyone but-" Farlan started
"If all four of us go, the rest of the squad will be in serious trouble. But if just I or Levi goes, there's no guarantee either of us would be able to find the other three again. If two of us go, we could get a better chance at retrieving the documents and have extra help with any titans but it would look weird if only two of them made it back to the squad. Which is the right choice?" I thought pushing myself over the limit and putting my own comrades lives in danger any way I choose. "I have to choose." I thought thinking back to what we have done since joining the survey corps. "There's no time to waist" I thought as I remembered looking up at Erwin completely helpless in the underground. Suddenly I came to a decision,
"Levi and I will go." I said considering it was the best option. "You two catch up to Flagon and the rest of the squad."
"Hey-" Farlan started nervous for our safety
"We'll get our hands on those documents." I said looking down towards the ground and thinking of any other possible choice but couldn't come up with one.
"I trust you." Levi said to me "I will trust any decision that you make no matter the risks."
"Levi-" I said not seeing this side of him before.
"But the one who's going to kill him is me." He said going back to his usual self "I can't stand how he treated us in the underground, especially you." He said looking at me
"But-" Farlan started
"I'm going with you too!" Isabel stated.
"Think about it." Levi said just concerned for their safety "Me and Ava or Flagon and Sayram? Who do you think is more likely to become titan food?"
"With the four of you together, your chances of survival are much higher." I said
"Think about it!" Farlan yelled getting angry "Use your head! The fog will clear if we just wait it out a while!"
"And? You think the titans are just going to sit back and relax until it's done? I trust the two of you to take care of any problems on your side including titans. We'll do the same on ours. Besides, I don't really like to take sides but I trust Ava more than I trust you and your plans.
