Am I a monster (Levi x OC)

Chapter 14

"Aw fuck." I said as titans rushed towards the female titan. Levi got off of her head while Erwin gave orders to attack.

I rushed towards one that was right in front of me, latching onto it's back and killing it pretty easily. All soldiers tried to stop them from eating the female titan, but it was no use. There were too many, before anyone knew what had even happened, the titans had eaten all of the skin off of it. I went back up onto a branch and looked around for my team. They were nowhere in sight. Levi joined me standing on either side of the commander.

"We've been bested." I said looking at the titan's finishing off the female type.

"Don't give me that shit." Levi said looking depressed "Not now."

"The enemy was prepared to abandon literally everything. I would never have thought. That she would have titans devour her. All for the sake of wiping out of existence the information we seek to obtain."

As the female titan was finished up, it was finally time to go

"All soldiers retreat!" Erwin yelled "While the titan's are busy devouring the female titan's body, get on your horses! We're leaving all the carts here! Head west and once you're out of the forest, redeploy the formation! We're returning to the Karanese district!"

"God damnit." Levi said putting his hand on his head and pushing hair out of his face

"This will not be good for Eren if we come back with nothing to show." I said wiping blood from my face

"We'll think about that after we have returned. At the moment we have to concentrate on returning safely without suffering any more damage." Erwin said showing no emotion "At the moment."

(Erwin POV)

"There's nothing to see. The vapor makes the body completely covered. There might be difficulty in communication with smoke signals-" I thought before remembering the colossal titan

"I'll get the squad." Levi said to Ava grabbing new blades "Hope they didn't get too far away from here."

"Hold on Levi." I said turning to him "Go refill your gas and get new swords."

"What? We're hard pressed for time as it is. I can still hold out with what I have left, why waste time on resupplying?"

"It's an order. Do it." I said forcing him into it

"Yes sir." He said, heading towards the supply carts

I fired the blue smoke signal to signify that we would be retreating.

As fast as possible, we were all back on horses. Ava came with me trusting Levi to the squad on my orders.

"Commander. Why did you send Levi to refill? We hardly have time for that." Hange asked

"Erwin. is it-?" Ava started

"Hanji." I said "I did it because I remembered one of your hypotheses."

"What?" Hanji started before being cut off

"You surmised that when the colossal titan disappeared, the reason why no one saw the person who was inside it was because that 'insider' equipped himself with maneuver gear beforehand and, using it, quickly escaped under the vapor cover." I said

"But I also concluded that it's hardly possible based on the similar situation with Eren when he emerged out of a titan. His equipment was hopelessly damaged and even his uniform was gone. But the most important part was that Eren was so exhausted, he couldn't even stand without help." Hanji said making a fair point
