"The fuck is that?!" I yelled looking up at the wall. A titan's head poking out of the cracks. Multiple soldiers were gathering as it became more obvious. I turned to Hanji who was also looking up with the same confused face. Suddenly the pastor of the city came up to her and put his hand on her shoulder, clearly in stress and out of breath.

"Pastor Nick?" Hanji jumped startled at his behavior.

"Don't-" He started stressed "Don't let sunlight touch that thing! You must Block the light with something, anything, a tarp, anything to keep light away from it! You have to hurry!"

He suddenly looked towards me with such terror in his eyes that it made me want to throw up. Somehow I knew that he was not messing around.

"What's going on here-?" A voice asked from behind me. I turned to see Levi walking up with the commander. "The Fuck?!"

"I said the exact same thing." I said to Levi watching him look up at the titan.

"This is indeed strange." Erwin said somehow keeping a straight face "I must go over this with the higher ups." And just like that, he walked away. I could never tell his intentions, he never expressed his emotions in front of me, or anyone for that matter. He just walked away without saying anything else.

*Later*

A tarp was put over the titan. It's features completely covered. I stood on top of the wall along with Hanji and Pastor Nick as they discussed why he knew so much about the titan in the wall. The pastor was kneeling at the very edge of the wall with Hanji behind him.

"Real repairs will start after sunset." Hanji said looking at Nick "For the time being, the breach is being filled with quick drying filler compound, at the same time the weakened parts next to the breach are being strengthened."

"That will do." Nick said looking down at the tarp "Did the citizens see any of it?"

"Well." Hanji started, thinking "The citizens who live in the vicinity are trying to keep away from this place because of the battle, but I can't guarantee that no one saw anything.

"Alright." He said starting to doubt his choice to say anything about the titan. "I guess that can't be helped."

"Well now." Hanji started, taking the glasses off of her face and putting them on her forehead "It's time for us to talk."

"About what?" Nick asked clearly not understanding

"The titan." Hanji said getting angry "Why is there a titan inside the wall? And why have you people kept quiet about it the whole time? I want you to answer me."

"I don't have time for this!" Nick said getting up and walking away from her "I am a busy man. My church and my followers are in utter chaos right now. And it is all your fault, you insolents. I shall make sure to demand indemnities for all the damage you have caused. Now let me off the wall.

"Alright." Hanji said walking towards him, grabbing the collar of his shirt, and pulling him towards the edge of the wall, hanging him over the edge of it. "Would you like to be let off from right here?" She said keeping a straight face

"Squad leader!" Moblit, a member of her squad yelled, clearly concerned for Nick's safety

"Stand down!" Hanji yelled at him, making him flinch

"What do you think you're doing?!" Nick yelled struggling with her. "You're being ridiculous!"

"It's you who's being ridiculous here." Hanji said, her eyes looked like something I had never seen from her before. She was not only angry, but I could also see terror and sadness in her eyes as well.

"You are committing a grave offense! And you're committing a deadly sin against humanity!"

"The reason why your sector has been so vocal in your protests against the plans about the wall's reinforcement and building of an underground tunnel is what we see in that gap right? It was the monarchist government that granted you the right to decide matters concerning the wall, correct? That is, your little cult is not the only ones who know this secret. You let us in the survey corps shed blood, we pay our lives to get back the freedom that was stolen from us. We're willing to pay with our lives for that. We've been continuously putting our lives on the line for the chance to make a progress, however small, towards that goal, believing that someday it will pay off.

Nick was starting to come to his senses. He was still looking at her with an intense hatred, but he was a bit more calm and looked like he was understanding a bit.

"You want to play dumb with us? Do you have any idea how many of us have had to abandon their own lives? All this time you people have been keeping quiet about the truth." Hanji said "Now listen, i'm not asking for a favor, i'm ordering you. Start talking. If you don't, i'll go find another. And I will ask him what's more important to him: Keeping his life or keeping silent. In fact, I bet they know more than you." She said, holding him farther out on the wall

"Let go of me!" Nick said loosening his grip

"You sure about that?" Hanji asked holding him out farther

"Yes!" Nick yelled releasing his hands from Hanji's arm "NOW! LET GO OF ME!"

Hanji just stared at him with a shocked look. She kept holding onto him though

"Your fury is understandable. But it's not like we said anything about this out of malice! And it's not like my life is precious enough to me to cave in! I shall prove it to you!" Nick said, his face covered in sweat and tears "I have already lost my family, I am but an unworthy sinner. A weak man who can only rely on god to keep living! But if even such a lowlife as me does not talk, then you shall not get a word out of those whose faith is stronger than mine, no matter what torture you put them through! Kill me and learn for yourself! We will carry out our mission until the very end!"

"Alright. Fine." Hanji said

"Squad leader!" Moblit yelled again, not even getting a reaction out of her this time

"Ah." Nick said, tears streaming down his face and putting his face towards the sky "God. The blessed."

Hanji sighed and pulled on his arm, throwing him back onto the wall. She laughed, as if nothing had happened.

"I was just kidding." She said, Moblit and her subordinates looking at her like she was crazy. "Hey, is the inside of the wall along its whole length filled with titan's?"

Nick was terrified, he was shaking and curled up into a ball.

"Hanji." I said walking to one side of her

"Ah." She said looking out at the city "I just remembered something that I long since forgot. The feeling that I stopped experiencing after my first expedition to the lands beyond the wall. Terrifying."

A bell rang loud and clear through the city as the gate to the city opened, I looked towards wall rose as I saw a soldier on horseback on his way to Wall Sina. I watched as sweat poured off him as if he had just witnessed his entire family get eaten by the titans.

(Soldier POV)

"I have to get to Commander Erwin." I said to myself, heading towards the gate. "They need to know." I looked back towards the direction of wall Rose. "Titan's have broken through wall Rose!"
