The Hours After

"Okay my gift first!" Lucy says, handing over a small green bag. June takes it and she and Louis open it.
"Aww these are so cute! Thank you!" June gushes at the baby onesies she pulls out.
"Sadly, our tiny Freddie can't fit in those yet. Hunter can, for sure, and Logan will probably be able to in a week or so." Louis says.
"Me next!" Harry says, handing over a couple of small bags. One read logan, one read HUNTER, and one read Freddie. "To be honest, I went down the the shops while you were sleeping. I had other gifts too, but I'm waiting to give you those." He tells them.
"Mate, these are perfect! They're adorable!" Louis says happily, as they pull out blankets for each of the boys. There's three in each. In Logan's bag, three blue blankets. One a thin, one thick and fuzzy, and the other one is the one they wrap around Logan, it has fuzz, but it's thin, and there's a little teddy on the corner. The same is in Freddie's, but they're orange, and Hunter's are green.
"Okay, now mine!" I say. I got them stuffed animals. It's my go to, and the kids always love them. Dylan won't go anywhere without her Kitty.
"Oh Zayn! These are so cute!" June exclaims, pulling out the teddy, dog, and lion I bought for the boys.
"I thought the teddy is perfect for Freddie. With the orange and all." I explain.
"I agree. And I think Hunter gets the lion, and Logan can have the puppy." Louis says. June nods, and I pass the boys the animals.
"Okay, this is too cute. Even asleep, Freddie is right up next to his teddy." Lucy says.
"Aww. That's my boy." June coos. We go through a lot of gifts, and I mean a lot.
"Now, why don't we go down and get some food?" Niall suggests.
"Of course you'd suggest that, Nialler. But as it happens, I'm absolutely famished. I've given birth, I slept, I socialized, now I think I need some food. And actually, so do the boys." June laughs.
"You're right! Alright, leave them here. Everyone, get out." Renee says, shocked she forgot, I'll bet. So we all bustle out and down to the kitchen. Almost an hour later, Louis makes his way down with Hunter and Logan, handing them off.

"Freddie is already having mummy separation issues." He explains. "Renee is holding him briefly while June walks around for a moment. Then, we'll all be down." He tells us.  

"Is he still asleep?" Harry asks. Louis shakes his head.

"He hasn't opened his eyes, but he was eating away!" Louis laughs, and so do we. "He's so small, guys. We can't believe it. It's absolutely crazy. There's so much we still have to take in and--OH MY GOD we don't have a nursery." He says suddenly. We all smile at one another.

"I guess this is as good a time as any to give you my other gift." Harry grins. "But let's wait until June and Freddie come down, okay?" he adds. Louis nods, and heads for the stairs again.

"Headed up to see June and the little lad. Oh this is mad. I'm a father."He says.

"June is gonna be really emotional guys, so be prepared. Be really careful. Compliment her. I know i felt really emotional, tired, and I only had Dylan. So let's just be cautious, just being helpful and kind these next few days. Zayn, please be more cautious about fighting with Louis. It won't be good results otherwise. Everyone got it?" Niall instructs us. We all nod, and I'm trying to keep it in my head to not get super snarky and rude. I don't mean to, it just happens.

"Hello down there!" We hear, looking up.

"Hey, lovely. How are you feeling?" Harry asks. She smiles, looking down at Freddie, who looks like he's still asleep.

"I'm doing great, thanks. Just coming down the stairs. What's to eat?" She asks.

"Whatever you want. We got it all." I tell her as she makes it down into the kitchen.

"Just some toast for now, please. I'm gonna start small." she says. Louis heads to get it while she sits.

"So, three of 'em. I know we've asked, but how are you feeling? We just want to make sure you don't need us hand and foot." Liam laughs. June smiles and shakes her head.
