Harrison and Carrie were so thankful for Luke as they started the project of getting the baby's room ready. He was a huge help to the two of them, especially when it came to Harrison building his daughters crib.

It was now early June. Harrison had been wearing his sling for 3 weeks now. He would often tell Carrie he felt "helpless" because of the sling. With Luke's help, he was able to build the crib for their daughter.

"Here."

Harrison reached down for the paint Carrie was handing up to him. He was up on a stool with the ladder next to him, holding all the supplies.

"Anything else?"

She handed up the roller. "For when you finish the trim."

Carrie also made her husband do the trim with the light grey they were painting the walls with. It was the perfect compliment to the white wood already on the walls.

He was very steady with the paint brush. Even though she was good at drawing, painting while standing up wasn't her strong suit. Harrison had a much steadier hand than she did.

As he worked up high, Carrie worked on the trim to go around the white wood. "This is going to look so good when we're finished."

"I'm loving it already," he answered. "I just really love the theme we're going to do."

They stuck to the one they found at the store before finding out they were having a daughter. Carrie looked everywhere for other room themes, but she couldn't find anything the two of them liked more.

There was a knock on the door. The two of them spun around to see Luke standing in the doorway. "Sorry I'm late."

"It's fine," Carrie answered. "We just started anyway."

Luke came over to her and handed her a small box. "What's this?"

"Open it."

Carrie set down her brush as Harrison stepped off the stool. "You want to open it?"

"Sure."

She held it as he opened the box to reveal a little white Panthers jersey that would fit their daughter. Harrison pulled it out with his right hand. It had the Panthers logo on the front with Luke's last name and number on the back.

"It's never too early to get her started with her own Kuechly jersey. It's a pretty nice jersey isn't it?"

"It is," Harrison answered with a playfully punch.

Their little girl would be wearing that a lot after her daddy's jersey. Because Luke would insist, and because he was going to be an uncle to her. He had done so much to help them prepare for the arrival of their daughter, and he and Harrison were pretty much brothers. Carrie knew that they'd be over helping Luke when he had his first kid.

"So what do you want to me to start on?"

"You can help me start the second coat of trim. Then maybe we can start hauling stuff in later."

Later in the week, Harrison and Carrie finished their daughters room with some huge help from Luke. She placed the last of the books in the bookshelf as he admired their work. The room looked great.

The light grey blended with the white on the walls, and the white crib he built, bookshelf, and changing station. They brought in a brown rocking chair with a white circular footrest as well as pink curtains. The closet was already loaded with clothes and toys, while the bookshelf had been prepped with more books than the two of them could count. On the very top of the bookshelf were a few frames they would put pictures in when their daughter was born.

There were already a few pictures hung on the wall. The spot on the wall above her crib was reserved for her name, that was going to go there once they figured that out. Across from the crib on the wall was the baby jersey they used for their engagement photos. It had Harrison's number 59 on the back, and instead of his last name, it read 'daddy.'

Carrie leaned against the side of her husband's chest as he wrapped his good arm around her. He kissed her cheek gently. "It looks beautiful."

"Now I can't wait for her to come."

My favorite season is fall and I'm so happy the leaves are starting to change now because I take a lot of pictures like these.
