Harrison headed into Bank of America Stadium wearing his Han Solo costume. He couldn't be more excited for this afternoon's game against the Chiefs. Because it was the NFL's first ever STAR WARS NIGHT!
Star Wars Night had become very famous in the MLB. All of baseball's 30 teams designated one home game of the season to be Star Wars Night. It was also widely popular in college football, the NHL, and to Harrison, it was about time Star Wars Night made its way to the NFL.
The Panthers were also taking today very seriously just like they did Halloween. Everyone was required to dress up as a Star Wars character, or be wearing Star Wars apparel.
Harrison took a right and into the locker room where somebody was already blaring Star Wars music. Everyone looked up and started to cheer as he made his way to his locker. Cam and Luke made him go as Han because he was so much like the character himself. Harrison was a natural leader and he flipped a switch like Han did, particularly towards Leia. He went from calm to a lunatic on the field.
His locker was right next to Luke's. And of course, everybody made Luke dress up as Luke Skywalker. It was only fitting. The Panthers fans called him 'LUUUKE' and they'd seen fans dressed up as Darth Vader before, holding signs that read, 'LUUUKE, protect this house.'
"You look good," Harrison told him as he set his bag down in his locker.
"Thanks. Although I'm not digging the hair dye."
Harrison laughed. Carrie dyed Luke's hair last night to resemble Mark Hamill's light brown hair from the movies.
"I see Carrie outfitted you pretty well."
"She sure did." Since he had practice all week, he asked Carrie to look into costumes for today's game. Carrie went all out. She found a complete replica Han Solo costume from A New Hope, and after he'd begged her several times, she found a Princess Leia costume for herself.
The locker room door opened and in came Cam dressed up as Lando, and Thomas dressed up as Darth Vader. Whoever was playing the music, which Harrison guessed was one of the running backs Fozzy Whittaker, changed it to The Imperial March. Thomas pulled out a light up red lightsaber and waved it around as he made his way to his locker beside Luke's.
"Man, that is a badass costume."
"It's awesome," Thomas answered in Darth Vader's voice.
Harrison got up and took a walk around to see who everyone else had dressed up as. David Mayo, one of the linebackers, dressed up as Anakin Skywalker when he was a Jedi. Coach Rivera was dressed up as Mace Windu.
He kept going. Kelvin had dressed up as Chewbacca. Everyone told him to dress up as Chewie because he was so tall. The character fit him perfectly. As he passed by Fozzy dressed up as Finn, he requested a song. The song played at the very end of A New Hope in the throne room when Han, Luke, and Chewie received their medals from Leia. That was also the song they would be introduced to this afternoon. The Chiefs would run out to The Imperial March.
Greg dressed up as Obi-wan and Christian went as Wedge. Their center Ryan dressed up as Qui-gon and Jonathan took Darth Maul. Ed Dickson, Greg's backup went as The Emperor. Even Todd dressed up as Admiral Ackbar.
Harrison passed by Mario who was dressed up as a royal guard and Devin who was Count Dooku. Their defensive end Kewaan, went as Kylo Ren and Graham came as General Hux.
There was a knock on the locker room door. Harrison took a few steps to his left and opened the door. It was Carrie. She was dressed in her Princess Leia costume from A New Hope, and her hair was up in the infamous cinnamon buns.
"Looks like you guys are having quite the party," she admitted.
"We are. You're welcome to join."
"No thanks. I just wanted to remind-"
"CARRIE!"
All the guys started chanting her name. "CARRIE! CARRIE! CARRIE!"
Harrison had no idea what that was about. But Carrie had to know. She slowly leaned towards him, and pressed her lips against his. He tried to deepen the kiss, but she pulled away and stole the replica DL-44 blaster out of his holster.
"Hands up Solo."
He did as told. "You're under arrest."
Luke came over with his blue lightsaber ignited and poked him in the stomach. Harrison played along with it and fell to the ground flat on his stomach. Then when Luke wasn't paying attention, he stole his blaster back from Carrie and arrested Luke before turning him over to Thomas.
"Alternative Return of the Jedi ending."
After all the goofing around, Harrison went back over to talk to Carrie. "I need you, Luke, and Cam in 30 minutes."
"Do you want me to wear this?"
"Sure, I think I'd look cool for the interview."
"Alright, I'll see you in a little bit, princess."
A few moments after Carrie left, the other locker room door opened, and in came Jabba the Hutt. Julius Peppers was wearing a full Jabba costume. It had to be the best costume of all of them.
"PEPPERS!"
