Autumn

Leaves crackle and break

Crunching under the heavy footfall

Bright oranges and reds mixed with yellows

Autumn is here, these colors can't be fake

Apples orchards fill with excited children squealing in delight

Hot pressed cider to quell the morning chills

The scent of cinnamon invades the nasal passages

While the crisp crunch of a ripe apple rises to greet your ears

Pumpkin patches bring the animated halloween lovers

The thought of carving scary faces that glow yellow beneath the full moon

The crackling of the flames inside their creations bringing smiles to their faces

The smell of homemade pumpkin seeds throttling their hunger for thanksgiving

Late nights are spent cuddling into your sweatshirt

Watching the flames of a bonfire burn higher into the starry night sky

Roasting marshmallows while the fire crackled below the sticky sweets

As wood burned and brought the remembrance of those happy summer memories

Rainfall comes here and there, leaving people with their umbrellas

The gentle pitter patter of the wet drops onto the nylon canopy that keeps them dry

Wet leaves and the salty sweet air that comes from the precipitation

Gray clouds blocking out the bright blue sky that leaves everyone smiling throughout the day
