WARRIOR | #8

You were the warrior

You were the fighter

But your battles were fought alone

And in 15 months I should have known

You were the light of the field

You were the calm in the storm

Then came the darkness

And now the field is starless

You were my unspoken brother

You were the level-header leader

Then black tresses fell out

And you could not shout

You were indomitable

You were always reliable

Then came the radiation

And the horrid sensation

You were always there

You protected us so well

Then came the sickness

And that was something I witnessed

You flew so high

You jumped so far

But then came the call

And I knew it was the fall

You fought for 15 months

But it wasn't enough

23 year young

You were our WARRIOR, #8

In loving memory of the Warrior that wore #8
