The Disappearing Town

Over the hills, darkness looms

Lightning strikes and thunder booms

Heavy rain washes the land

Purifying the Earth, new and grand

Rushing water tumbles down the hill

The town below is peaceful and still

A little girl looks at the water

She runs inside to alert her father

Warning alarms blare through the silence

The town below is no longer quiet

Closer and stronger the water rushes

Heavily destroying all the bushed

It's a matter of time

Time to live or time to die

Screams of horror and terror

Right now, no one was in favor

The water hits the town full force

Right now, nature shows no remorse

The houses built were swept away

And the people there were led astray

The weather calms and clouds clear

No signs of life seemed to be near

The quiet town gone to the eye

But the people knew their ends was nye

Searching the town, trying to look

For people, not missing a nook

The town was gone, never there

The houses were never built, it was bare
