I slumped into my bed after stripping down to my bra and panty. The gown was beautiful but it was also such a weight! My body felt so light now.

But my heart was as heavy as could be.

Chester was in love with me? And always had been? I could not believe my ears. I refused to believe it. Why did he choose to tell me now?

Well... because I forced him into a corner?

Mia and Sammy had kept telling me that there was more to Chester than him treating me as a kid sister but I always brushed it aside. I never would bring myself to believe it that the charming handsome Lord Chester Gringham was ever interested in me.

And me?

Chester was just like a big brother to me. Nothing more than that.

Niall and I had come a long way to where we were today. I could not and would not jeopardize that. Never. I loved Niall too much for that!

But, putting my heart aside and using my heart instead – how far should I expect to go with Niall? Was he really willing to marry me eventually? Would his family be able to accept me? Would he be able to accept me and my country? Would there be a future for us?

If Mia was never going to have a son, the responsibility would have to be on me. It was an unspoken responsibility – the heir to the throne.

My phone vibrated just then.

"Are you still awake? – Niall"

Opps! I forgot about him!

"Yup! Sorry, I just got back to my room. I'll come over after my shower."

Beep.

"It's okay. Why don't you turn in earlier tonight? – Niall"

"But I want to see you."

Beep.

"*Smile* Then I'll wait for you. – Niall"

Dumping my phone back onto the bed, I jumped into the tub which Daphne had prepared for me, washing away all my troubles for the moment.

Heck. I should take it one step at a time.

I threw my arms around Niall as soon as the door was closed behind us. He chuckled before plunging his lips onto mine and I returned his kiss hungrily.

"Ah hem," someone cleared his throat behind him.

We pulled apart and saw Liam grinning. "Maybe we should leave?"

I looked further in and saw the boys giggling on the sofa.

"Don't bother about him," Niall said. "He always make out with Danielle in front of us anyway."

I rolled my eyes.

"I did not!" Liam retorted.

Niall simply laughed. "Good try." He pulled me into the room to join the guys.

"Hi guys!" I called out.

"Hey there!"

"How was the ball?" I asked as I cuddled into a couch with Niall.

"Fun!" Louis piped. "Especially the finale dance."

"Did you manage to throw anyone?" I chuckled.

"I did!" he said proudly. "She said her name was Clarissa. It was her first state ball and she wanted to try it."
