"I found out who altered the will," Emma said.

"Who was it...?" I asked softly, holding my breath. Sammy had her fists clenched so tight that I could hear her joints cracking.

"Well technically, yes," she chuckled. "I found out the person who altered it physically but he's not the person who had asked for it to be altered – if you get what I mean."

"Uh... not exactly..." Sammy spoke up.

"Oh! Is that Sammy?" Emma exclaimed. "Hi Sammy!"

"Hi Emma..."

"Am I on speaker...?"

"Sorry, I put you on speaker. But there's only me and Sam," I apologised.

"No worries," I could almost see her grinning.

"So who was it?" Sammy asked impatiently.

"Oh yeah, back to the story," Emma recalled.  "It was Uncle Rod himself."

"Uncle Rod?" Sammy and I exclaimed at the same time.

"Who's that?" Sammy added.

"Opps, sorry," Emma apologised. "Uncle Rod as in Rodney Marchland himself. The senior lawyer of this firm, or rather, the boss of this firm; my father's and the Duke's good friend. He's the reason why I was here in the first place?"

"Wait," I stopped her. "Where are you now?" It would not be good for her if she was overheard.

"I'm in my room – in my rented flat. Don't worry, nobody will hear us."

"Okay," I let out a temporary sigh of relief.

"So?" Sammy piped.

"I was packing up the archives files and had to do some filing in Uncle Rod's office yesterday. So I took the opportunity to search his private cabinet which he always kept it locked. But because I had to file some stuff in, he gave me the key."

"And he trust you to give you the key?" Sammy asked in disbelief.

Emma chuckled, "Yeah. I'm that trustable."

"God, how daft is that man..." Sammy rolled her eyes. "Anyway, go on."

"So, I searched through the files and I actually found the original will."

"WHAT?!" this time, the both of us exclaimed loudly.

"Yeah, I found the original will that the late Queen had wrote up. There was also a draft in her handwriting attached to it."

It was quite usual for grandma to write her wills in drafts first before submitting to the lawyers.

"And?" I urged her to continue.

"And there's actually a note here as well by Uncle Rod."

"Which is?"

"On this note, Uncle Rod wrote that the original will has been stolen..."

"STOLEN?!!"

"WHAT?! How? When? Who?" Sammy asked.

"It says here, the original will was written on Fourteenth July 2009."

That was a few months before grandma passed away.

"However, when the late queen passed away, this original will was never found. Since the queen had made a note that this will be read out only on your nineteenth birthday, Uncle Rod kept this a secret while sending his team out to search for the missing will. It was under the assumption that they must had misplaced it somewhere. They did manage to find it one year later – tucked away in a corner in the archives. So Uncle Rod had it moved and stored away in his private shelf for safe-keeping making a note only to take it out when you turn nineteen."
