Across boundaries >> XXVIII <<

"Where are we going?" I asked curiously as the patches of green rolled past outside the window.

Niall had taken three days off to spend time with me alone and we were in the car with him at the wheel.

"You'll see," he flashed me his usual grin as he turned up the music.

It's not about the money, money, money

We don't need your money, money, money

We just wanna make the world dance

Forget about the price tag

Ain't about the cha-ching, cha-ching

Ain't about the ba-bling, ba-bling

Wanna make the world dance

Forget about the price tag

I chuckled as he sang at the top of his voice.

"You know," he said. "It's actually a stupid song."

"But you like it anyway," I chuckled.

"It's got the grove. Makes you want to move," he moved his head left and right in a dance. "Oh god, it rhymes."

"Well done," I smirked.

"I'm so glad we get three days all to ourselves," he said. "Thank goodness Sammy did not tag along."

"She wanted to... until you stopped her," I pointed out.

"Of course," he rolled his eyes. "She can just stay with Harry."

"The two of them..." I shook my head.

"Forget about them," he shrugged. "They are old enough to decide what they want to do with each other."

I nodded.

"Let's think about us instead," he grinned.

"So where are we going?" I looked at him with a smile.

"We are reaching soon," he turned back with a quick smile.

"Stupid sheep!" Niall yelled as he stuck his head out of the window.

I laughed at his helplessness. Our car was blocked from going further by a sheep that refused to move out of the way.

"Where's the owner?!" he exclaimed as he looked around. "I'm going to blast the horn!"

So far, he had restrained himself from sounding the horn in order not to frighten the poor thing but we were obviously not noticed by it.

Just then, a young boy whom presumed to be the shepherd came running out and he apologised profusely with bows as he dragged the sheep away.

"Thank goodness he came along..." Niall grumbled.

I chuckled. "It was quite a pretty little thing..."

He glared at me, "I don't like it."

"Just because it blocked your way?" I asked, amused.

He shrugged.

He drove into a small farm next to where we encountered the sheep. There were sounds of sheep baaing away in the background.

"Here we are," he alighted and came over to open my door.
