Across boundaries >> XXXII<<

"Looks like he's studying hard," Sammy grinned to me as she looked up from the screen of her Mac book. She was 'marking' the questions which she had set for Niall. True to her word, she had made it her responsibility to monitor and supervise his progress. Every week, she would set a 'paper' for him and he would reply through email. Knowing that he would have the accessibility to the texts, she had deliberately made the questions open-ended such that he could not entirely rely on the notes. Smart girl!

"Really?" I mused and leaned over to her screen.

She nodded before closing the file, "Only one question wrong. At least he got your name correct this time."

I chuckled, "He'd better!"

We were sitting with our legs stretched out on the sun-benches along the coast of Krabi, Thailand. I had a book in my hands as usual while Sammy had a laptop cropped up on her lap. We had flown in this morning for a three-day regional conference which was only starting the next day; hence we decided to take a tan by the beach.

It had been quite some time since we flew out of Genovia for work and this time, in my very own personal jet. The new hired pilot – Sam, was a retired air-force pilot who decided to spend his retirement days in Genovia. However, I seriously doubt that he would have much time left for himself by taking up this job.

The boys were busy with their Latin American tour and would be for the next two weeks, before Niall could take a short vacation down to Genovia. Until then, I thought it was not a bad idea to enter this conference.

The beach, being a private property of the hotel, was filled with hotel guests and sun-tanners. Sammy managed to find us a secluded spot away from the main crowd, and away from the familiar faces of the office staff. Still, they knew better to keep their distance and respect our privacy.

It wasn't the first we've been to Thailand but it never failed to intrigue me. The Thais were a nation of friendly people with a rich culture. The pace here was also more relaxed compared to some of the cities we'd been. It was always good to give some time to lie at the beach and enjoy the warm basking sun.

"Hello there!" Two half naked guys decided to venture over. Judging from their accent, they sounded Americans. They were both fairly fair and had a fair amount of muscles bulging from their naked torso.

Sammy and I looked up in surprise.

"Where are you girls from?" The darker haired guy spoke up. He had a mellow pitched voice and a cute sexy grin.

"London," Sammy replied simply. We never revealed our true identities to strangers – especially in a foreign land like this.

At the side of my eyes, I saw the guards eyeing these two guys suspiciously.

Unknown to many, I was always surrounded by guards except sometimes they tended to be less oblivious, like now. They were sitting around some distance behind us; at the snacks hut; under the trees; as well as in the café.

"I'm Greg," the guy continued before pointing to his friend. "And this is Matt." Matt gave a shy smile. "We are here for a holiday. How 'bout you?"

As I was wearing my shades, it was quite difficult to make out where my eyes were looking. So, they had their eyes on Sammy. Besides, she was in her sexy pink bikini.

"Sammy," she replied. "Allie," she pointed to me.

"Can we join you?" Matt asked. But without waiting for our response, the two of them sat down at the adjacent benches.
