"Are you insane?!" I exclaimed after I practically dragged Niall into the drawing room outside the hall. "Do you realise the consequences of what you have just done?!"

I was fuming mad! Did he realise that he had just sent himself to the gallows by signing a death penalty?

Unlike Chester whose father was the Duke – a powerful man since the Duke's family was indirectly royal and was contributing to the treasury, Niall was a nobody in Genovia. Despite him being a world famous boy-band member of One Direction, it would not help any bit here. He would not be able to go back on his word. He would be heavily scrutinized by the Council on his every moves. They would do their best to make his life miserable. I was sure of that – definitely from the Prime.

I sighed in exasperation when Mia and the rest stepped in.

"I meant every single word," Niall said softly.

"Niall!" Mia exclaimed as she looked from Niall to me and back to Niall. She broke into a smile, "Oh my god Niall! Did you just propose to Allie?"

I narrowed my eyes, "Mia!"

"Nialler...," the boys called out softly. From the looks on their face, they were equally shocked.

Niall cleared his throat, "I did not say that out of recklessness. I meant every single word." He turned to face me, "I want to marry you."

I shook my head in anger, "Do you know what you have just done?"

"Allie..." Sammy came and stood beside me but I walked away.

"Do you know the exact consequences?" I questioned him.

"Allie," Liam spoke up. "I think Niall is well aware of what he is doing."

I shook my head in tears as I collapsed into the chair, "No, he doesn't..."

"Allie..." Niall pleaded softly while Sammy rushed towards me.

"I will not be forced into a marriage just because..." I clenched my teeth. "I will not give in."

"There is something fishy about the whole arrangement," Venn spoke up for the first time. "I cannot believe that Queen Clarisse would write such a will. She was a person who valued true love. She would be the last person to force her granddaughters into marriage."

Mia rolled her eyes at him, "Do you remember my case? How she tried to match make me a guy?"

Venn winced.

"I have no doubt that she was up to something again for Allie," Mia folded her arms and pouted.

"But why Allie?" Harry pointed out. "Mia is the queen now."

Louis nodded, "I agree with Harry. Allie is a princess but she is not that important a person to force a royal marriage?" He looked to me, "Sorry about that, girl."

I smiled weakly back.

"And why now?" Harry continued. "Isn't it too much a coincidence?"

"There's one thing I don't understand though," Zayn said. "Why must she be married by twenty three?"

Sammy chuckled. "In Genovia, a girl is considered of age to attend social events when she is sixteen. She is considered an adult when she turns twenty three."

"That's strange..." Zayn mused. "And a guy?"

"Same."

"Why twenty three, when everywhere else is twenty or twenty one?"
