Chapter 31: Where's the Truth

Ginny nodded and they headed back to the common room. As they walked into the common room they saw Lily and James snogging in the corner. Sirius smirked and grinned to Remus. He had the same grin on his face. They were glad that things between James and Lily was going good. Ginny cleared her throat and James and Lily looked up. Lily blushed when she realized that they caught them. James was just grinning like a Chester cat.

"What is going on here?" Sirius asked.

"Well the thing is,"

Lily started to say before she saw Hermione running into the Gryffindor common room. Lily looked up to Ginny. They ran up to their room and did not find Hermione there. They came back down to the common room to find the boys not there. Ginny looked at Lily.

"Where did they go?" Lily asked.

"I don't know. Wait, I think I know where she went." Ginny said looking at Lily. She started up the stairs to the boys' room. "When Hermione had Harry and Ron and something horrible happened she would go to their room to be alone or to have Harry and Ron comfort her." Ginny explained.

They walked in and saw Sirius holding Hermione in his arms on his bed. James and Remus was looking at the two in quiet. They did not know what to do. The Marauders looked over to the door and saw Lily and Ginny there. Ginny waved her wand to cast spells to silence the room.

"Hermione what happen?" Ginny asked.

Hermione looked up and ran over to Ginny and started to cry again. Ginny lead her over to Sirius' bed and sat her down beside her. Sirius wrapped his arms around her. They stood there silent and let Hermione collect herself. Once she calmed down and collected herself. She looked up and said,

"They think I did it to myself. They think it was a publicity stunt to get sympathy. But I didn't. I may not remember that night but I know what I did not do it. I couldn't have, could I?"

"Hermione I know you forever. I know that you would never to that to yourself." Ginny said.

"It couldn't be you who did it. I should know. I saw the scars and the ones that were open Hermione. I am the one who took care of you. I would have known that those are inflicted by you. You didn't do it Hermione." Lily explained.

Hermione sighed and did not know what to do or say. She was exhausted. She leaned into Sirius and listened to Remus and the others try to comfort her. Before she knew it she was asleep in Sirius' arms. He looked over to the others and he covered her up in his bed. He turned to Lily, Ginny, and the guys.

"She can sleep in my bed. I don't think it is wise for her to go back to her room with the drama right now." Sirius said.

The two girls nodded and headed out of the room. Before Ginny left she turned to Sirius and said,

"You take care of her Black. You hear me."

Sirius grinned and nodded. He turned to the guys and they were just grinning at Sirius. He looked over to see if Peter was in the room and saw him not there. James laid on his bed and looked over to Sirius and asked,

"So, what's going on?"

"What are you talking about?" Sirius asked trying to ask confuse.

"You know what I am talking about. What's up lover boy?" James asked smirking.

Sirius looked over to Hermione and saw that she was still asleep. He smirked at how she looked so beautiful and innocent when she slept. He looked back to Remus and James.

"She's different. So what?" He said.

Right then they heard their door open up and saw Peter coming in. He looked over to Sirius' bed and saw Hermione there. He was shocked to say the least. He looked over the guys and asked,

"What is she doing here?"

Sirius glared at Peter with the rude attitude he gave when he asked that question. Sirius got up and walked over to Peter and said as calm as he could,

"She is here because I allowed her to be. If you have a problem with her here then you have a problem with me Pete. Do we have a problem?"

Peter shook his head no. James looked over to Remus scared. He has never seen Sirius speak to Peter like that. It was like venom spatting at Peter. It scared them. Sirius walked back to his bed and turned into a dog to lay on the floor. James smirked at Remus. They smiled to each other and went to bed.

Hermione woke up the next day looking round in a strange room. She got up and saw that she was in the Marauders room. Right then she saw the bathroom door open and saw Sirius coming out with just a towel around his waist.

Sirius looked up and saw Hermione was awake. He smirked at her. Hermione blushed and saw James and Remus waking up. They laughed at her. She glared to both of them and back to Sirius. He was already half way dressed. The only thing he was missing was his shirt. He was toned and she thought of him as sexy.

"Morning love. Did you sleep well?" Sirius asked.

"I slept great. Thank you for allowing me to sleep in your bed. Where did you sleep?" She asked.

He smirked and gave her a wink. Hermione glared at him and said,

"You didn't sleep in the same bed, did you?"

He smirked and said,

"No, I slept as Padfoot."

She blushed at that. Hermione thought at first that did not sound like Sirius. If there was a girl in his bed then he would join her. But she was surprised to say the least. She got up and thanked them again. Hermione headed to her dorm room to her room.

"Mione, how are you?" Ginny asked.

"I'm alright. But I rather not talk about it. I have to head back to the Headmasters office to go to Madam Pomfery's to get testing done." Hermione explained.

"Do you want us to come with?" Lily asked.

Hermione shook her head no. She did not want her friends to worry about it. She need to know answers first before she worried anyone else. Hermione changed and then headed down to the hospital wing. She felt a hand on her shoulder, Hermione turned to see,
