Chapter 27: Answers

"Hermione, I know that it was you who did the prank." Remus said.

Hermione let out a breath that she did not know that she was holding in. She thought that Remus knew that Ginny and she was from the future. Hermione did not know what to say about any of this. She questioned how Remus knew that she was the one that did the prank.

"How did you know about the prank was me?" Hermione asked.

"Well that is simple, you have been out of it all day and you were one of the only ones that did not get effected by the prank. Were you the only one that did the prank?" Remus asked.

Hermione smiled at Remus and started to collect her things. She started to leave and turned around to face Remus and said,

"I guess you are just going to have to find out. It's me to know and you to find out."

Hermione walked down the hallway and saw Ginny. Hermione has noticed that Ginny has been a little upset about something but she did not know of what or if it was because of a who. Hermione walked over to Ginny and sat down with her.

"So what's up Ginny? You have been acting strange lately." Hermione asked.

Ginny looked at her with tears in her eyes. Hermione hugged her and said,

"Does it have to do with our time?"

Ginny nodded and said,

"I have made a decision about this all. I want to change the future. They deserve a better future."

"A different future." Hermione said.

They both got up and headed back to Gryffindor common room. Hermione sat down next to Remus and gave him a smile. Everyone else looked at them confused. James looked at Ginny and Ginny just shrugged to him. James eyebrow rose and he asked,

"What is going on here between you two?"

Hermione looked from Remus to James and said,

"That is for you to find out and for me to know. Good night gentlemen, see you upstairs Ginny."

Hermione left the boys sitting there confused. The Marauders turned to Ginny and James said,

"What was that all about?"

"I have no idea. But I feel like our dear Remus here knows something." Ginny stated looking at Remus.

Remus looked at them and said,

"Well, I don't know what you are talking about but I think I know who did the prank this morning but I need more information to conform it before I tell you."

Remus go up from where he was sitting and headed up to his room. Ginny looked from James and Sirius. They were smiling at me and Ginny knew they were going to interrogate her. Ginny smiled at them and said,

"I know nothing. But I will find out. Good night boys."

She went up the stairs to her dorm room to find Lily and Hermione laughing. Ginny sat her bed and asked,

"What was that all about downstairs? What do you mean by 'it's me to know and you to find out?'"

"Oh that. I am just messing with the guys. But we do have a problem. Remus knows that it was me that did the prank but I don't know if he knows if it was both of you that helped me." Hermione explained. "For a second I thought he found out the truth about you and me." Hermione admitted.

Ginny looked scared at what Hermione said. Lily looked at the both of them and asked,

"You don't think he actually knows. You have been careful about everything and about your past."

"I know but we are going to be changing the future for the better." Hermione admitted to Lily.

"Are you really? Is that even a good idea? Is there any consequences behind it?" Lily asked worried.

Lily was worried about her new friends. She had become close with them. They were like sister to her now. She could always go to them. But she was worried that something might happen to them. Lily looked to Ginny. Ginny looked to Hermione and could tell that she was hiding something.

Ginny looked at Hermione confused and asked,

"Hermione what's wrong?"

"If we are going to change the future then we are going to need help but most of all we are going to need a leader. Some that can lead the war this time around and make sure that there is not a second time around." Hermione stated.

"Then I already know who can lead us." Ginny said smiling.

"Who?" Hermione asked confused.

"The only person what was by Harry's side since day one, the only one that knows what everything happened and knows the order of it." Ginny said excitedly.

"Who are you talking about Ginny? You can't mean me. I can't, I'm not Harry." Hermione said shocked.

"But I do mean you Hermione. You are all we have left. I trust you we all do." Ginny said.

Hermione did not know what to day or do. She went to bed and did not say a word to Lily and Ginny. They did not say anything after that. They looked at her and just shrugged. Ginny crawled into bed and could hear Hermione cry herself to sleep. Ginny looked over to Lily and Lily had a sad look on her face. They knew that was remembering everything that ever happened to her. The room was quiet and they just went to sleep.

Hermione got up from her bed and went to the common room. No one was there and Hermione knew that this is where she was supposed to be right now. She sat there in silence and then heard footsteps. Hermione did not need to turn around she knew who was coming down.

"What are you doing down here?" A voice asked.
