Chapter 41: Looking Forward

Today I was going to ask Hermione out I took a deep breath and walked out of my room I meet my best friend downstairs. James smiled at me and asked,

"Are you ready?"

"Yeah, I just hope she says yes." I told him.

Hermione was such a different girl. She doesn't treat me like other girls do in this school. She wants to get to know me as a person. Hermione is special and strong. She is someone I have never met. Every day I just want to get to know her. There is something about her that I just can't explain. It makes her mystery. I felt a hand on my shoulder and saw James smile at me. I guess I was in my mind.

We walked into the great hall. Hermione was at our usual spot. Remus was talking to Hermione. I sat down next to her. I joined into their conversation. They were talking about today's Hogsmeade trip. I smiled to myself. I spoke up and asked,

"So what are your plans to day? Are you going to Hogsmeade?"

Hermione turned to look at me and said,

"I was actually thinking about meeting up with Livia's cousin. What about you?"

I looked over to James. I sighed and said,

"I was thinking about going down. But maybe a little bit later. I was going to do some laps around the quidditch pitch."

She nodded and said,

"That should be fun. Maybe we can meet up at the Three Broomsticks later."

"Sure. That sound great. If you are not busy by lunch then we can meet up then." I suggested.

*Hermione's POV *

I nodded and then Ginny whispered into my ear. I nodded and told Remus and Sirius that I would talk to them later. I walked with Ginny back to our room. She closed the door and gave me a look. She spoke up and asked,

"I thought you were not going to meet up with Livia's cousin."

I thought about my answer. I Know that I told Ginny otherwise. But I started to think about everything and I thought it was a good idea. I shrugged and said,

"It might be a good idea. I have a plan. If I am right about who this guy is. It can help change the future in our favor."

Ginny nodded and said,

"Why does everything have to be about the plan? Hermione, we get a chance to start over. Don't you wish you could do something that you never got to do from our time. You have a guy here that is crazy about you and you can't see it."

"What guy are you talking about?" I asked.

I could see where Ginny was coming from. We were luck to have a chance to start over but this was my chance to change everything for the better. Make sure that everyone gets the happy ending they deserve.

"Sirius! He is crazy about you and you don't see it." Ginny said.

I gave her a look and said,

"No way. He doesn't like me like that. I am just a friend to him. Plus Ginny I made a promise that I am not going to break. I promise to myself and for everyone that was gone that I would change everything and make them have a better future no matter what."

Ginny gave me a look and ran over to me. She gave me a hug and we just stood there for a minute. She looked at me and said,

"Hermione, you do not need to do this alone. The world does not have to be on your shoulders. Harry and everyone would understand if you want to have a life as well. I think you deserve it since everything you have already done and sacrificed."

I was trying not to cry but I could not help it. It was so much and I have not let it out since we got here. Everything was happening so fast. I was only thinking about what I can do to better the future but maybe Ginny was right. I must do a balance. I need to start a life here.

I looked at her and nodded. We laughed at each other and whipped the tears away. Right then Lily came into the room. She looked at each of us and asked,

"What happened here?"

We both laughed even harder. I smiled and said,

"Don't worry about it. But I have to go do something before meeting up with Livia's cousin."

I quickly walked down the stairs. I looked around the common room and saw Sirius sitting there with they guys. I walked up to him and leaned down and whispered,

"We need to talk later. It's important."

I then gave him a kiss on his check and walked away.
