Chapter 38: The Threat

It was the first Hogsmeade trip and everyone was excited. Ginny was going on her date with Regulus. Hermione and Lily helped her get ready. They were spending some personal time with each other.

"So are you excited?" Lily asked.

"More like nervous." Ginny admitted.

"Well, you should not be nervous. Regulus will be a gentleman to you and if he is not then I will have a few words for him." Hermione stated.

Ginny started to laugh and Lily was laughing with them. Everyone headed down to the common room and the Marauders were waiting there for them. Ginny smiled to them and asked,

"How do I look?"

"You look wonderful. My brother is going to be dazed when he sees you." Sirius said.

We all went down for lunch. We ate in silence and went our separate ways. Hermione started to walk down the hall to the library but got stopped by Sirius and Remus. She smiled to them and asked,

"How can I help you?"

"Where do you think, you are going?" Sirius asked.

"I was going to the library. There are a few things that I want to research." Hermione told them.

Remus looked over to Sirius and grinned. Sirius took an arm and Remus took the other. They walked down the hall away from the library. Hermione started to protest but they would not listen. Sirius started a conversation and asked,

"Where is Prongs at?"

"He is trying to impress Lily by acting like a friend." Remus explained.

"Well, I hope that goes well. He deserves it." Sirius stated.

They kept walking until they got to the doors to the entrance of the school. Hermione sighed and said,

"Are we really going down there?"

"YES!" They both said together.

Hermione sighed and did not say anything else. They walked down silently and then heard someone scream their names. They turned around to see it was James and Lily.

"Hey guys." James said smiling.

"Hermione I thought you were going to the library." Lily asked.

"I thought so too. But these two has other plans for me." Hermione explained.

*Hermione's POV*

I walked with Lily while the boys walked behind us. We started to talk about a assignment for class. I turned to look back to the guys and saw them laughing and smirking. Sirius caught my eyes and he winked to me. I just shook my head and went back talking to Lily.

"Hermione, can I talk to you in private?" Lily asked.

I nodded and walked into the book. We knew none of the guys would follow us except for Remus. He walked right in after us and asked,

"So what is this about?"

"You are too smart. It's girl talk. Think you can distract those two for a little bit and we will meet up at the Three Broomsticks." I asked.

He nodded and walked out. We looked toward the window and saw Remus talking to the guys and walked up to Zonko's. I smirked and was pleased to see that Remus would do that for me. I turned to Lily and asked,

"What is it that you have to tell me?"

"I think I am having some sort of feelings for Potter." She admitted.

I was so happy for her. My smile grew and I said,

"That is great. You know how much he likes you."

"Yeah I know." She told me smirking.

"When did these feelings start?" I asked.

"Well, I guess ever since I saw the different side of James. He has been more mature lately around me. He is acting like a friend than how he was acting before in the past. I like the other person I see. But don't get me wrong. I know that I can't change him it is different to see him like this." Lily admitted.

I smiled at the start that is happening right now. We browsed the books for a little bit and I got a new book to light read when I needed it. We walked out and head over to Zonko's. We waited outside for the guys to join us.

"Hey isn't that Peter in there?" Lily asked.

I looked inside the shop and saw Peter was talking to the guys. I knew this was not going to be good. I sighed and walked into the shop. If only Fred and George could see me now. They would have a heart attack seeing me walk in there. Lily looked at me surprised and followed in. We slowly walked up behind them. I wanted to see what they were talking about.

"Pete are you sure about that?" James asked.

"Yes. They are not to be trusted. Why else would the redhead one go out with your brother." Peter said.

"Hey, what is wrong with my brother. He is an alright guy and the redhead name is Ginny." Sirius said sternly.

"There is nothing wrong with your brother it is just that those two Recess are not who you think they are. Something does not make sense about their stories about facts about their lives. And don't get me started about the brunette one. She is just playing you all. The way she faked that attack and made her memories disappear is unbelievable. She is hiding something and I would not trust her if I were you. Look at how they made you leave me out of the group. When was the last time us four hanged out?" He asked.

"Hey, Pete we didn't mean to make you feel left out but those two are our friends too. I trust them both and I would be care full on how you speak about Hermione around us. She has been through a lot." Remus suggested.

"I cannot believe you would say that about her. Hermione has not done nothing to you. Peter, you are a great guy but I would never believe this shit coming from your mouth right now. Hermione has been through a lot and she is still fighting. That attack she went through was real and whoever did attack her better be aware that trouble will come their way if I ever find them. She is a fighter and brave. I would think you have more respect about that." Sirius ranted.

I knew I heard enough and I knew Remus knew were in the store. I placed my hand on Sirius' shoulder. He turned to look me in the eyes. None of the boys knew what to say. I just walked up to Peter and said,

"I do not know who you are but I did hear some good things about you from these boys. But I know when to trust my own instinct and it is telling me from this moment not to trust you. I will not push the boys away from you. They can hang out with you if they want. But I am someone not to mess with." I then leaned in closer and whispered to him,

"You can tell you merry of worms that if they want to mess with me and my friends and family then let this be a warning. I know who you are and I know that you are on the wrong side. But there is no way to help you now. I thought I could help you but I was wrong. You are too deep in. I will make sure you will never hurt your so called friends again. Be careful who you cross. I am much more scarier then Voldemort himself."

I moved back and saw the color had gone from his face. I turned and walked out of the store. Leaving the guys and Lily behind. I walked back up to Hogwarts and right up to Professor Dumbledore's office. I went inside and saw lots of eyes starring at me. I smiled at the result and said,

"I am Hermione Recess and I am going to join you in the fight to defeat Voldemort."
