Chapter 42: So Close

*Sirius's POV*

I watched Hermione walk away back up the stairs. I looked to James and Remus. They were confused. I felt a grin grow on my face and I had a few ideas on what we needed to talk about. But I am hoping it is about us.

"So what was that about?" James asked.

I thought about it and then said,

"I think I have a chance now."

They both grinned at me and Remus spoke up and said,

"You got that from a kiss on the cheek. But what did she say to you?"

"She said that we need to talk later about something important." I shared.

Their grins grew bigger and we got up to head down to Hogsmeade. I was going to make this trip the best for Hermione once we met up. I wanted to show her how much she means to me. She is so special and I was so nervous about talking to her now.

*Hermione's POV*

I looked at Ginny and Lily. You could see that they were spying on me. They were grinning and giggling. I just rolled my eyes at them. Lily smiled to me and said,

"Well, isn't that sweet. Maybe you will make him a better person."

"I will not be changing Sirius at all. I like him for who he is. You should not want to change some one because you can. You should like them for their personality. They are who they are." I said.

Lily was surprised at that. I think I made her think about a few things. I was hoping that she would rethink about giving James a chance. We all got ready and headed down to Hogsmeade. Ginny looked at me and asked,

"So are you going to let Sirius in?"

"I don't know. You know that it's hard for me. I barely had a boyfriend and I don't have experience with that because of who I was friends with." I explained.

Ginny nodded and said,

"Just take it one step at a time."

I nodded and saw Livia standing there with a tall man. She waved me over and the guy turned around. Ginny stopped and looked at me. I nodded and said,

"Told you I know what I am doing."

"Well, aren't you smart. Be careful. He turned in our time from light to dark." Ginny warned me.

"That is what I am going to stop. He was such a part of light that I don't want him to lose that hope." I said.

Ginny nodded and left to meet up with Lily. I walked up to Livia. She gave me a hug and said,

"Hermione, I would like to introduce you to my cousin Richard."

"It's nice to meet you Richard. I have heard good things about your from your cousin." I said.

He smiled and gave his cousin a look. She looked between us and said,

"Well, I know when I am not needed. Have fun."

Richard smiled at me and asked,

"Do you want to take a walk around the village?"

I nodded and he led me through the village. We did not speak at first but then Richard spoke up and said,

"You do know who I am right?"

"Yes, I have seen you at the meetings. This must be a little weird." I asked.

He nodded and said,

"A little bit. I wasn't sure it was you at first when my cousin was telling me about you. She thinks she can set us up. But I want to meet you face to face...."
