Chapter 45: Three True Friends

"You are lying to everyone."

I turned to see Peter. He had this look to him. I knew that he would know something was going on. He was part of the dark side. I just didn't know how to prove it to the others. I didn't know if he had his mark yet. But I will figure it out.

"I have no idea what you are talking about." I said.

He just gave me a look and just spatted,

"I will show them all. You are a fraud. No one will ever trust you again. Mostly Sirius, James and Remus."

I glared at him and stood up. I went face to face with Peter. You could see the fear in his eyes. I gave him a smirk and said,

"You are such a coward. You should fear me reviling your precious secret. I mean it's not like you would get suspended or something with the dark mark on you."

He gave me a look and I just walked away. I then got hit with a spell. I feel forward onto the stairs. I turned my head and quickly casted a nonverbal spell his way. He flew into a chair. There was this dark look in his eyes. I quickly got up and had my wand out. I looked at him and said,

"Peter you don't have to do this. You can change."

"You have no idea how it feels to be on the outside. Being the odd ball out of the group. Your so-called friends just use you and think you are just an idiot bamboo. This is my only way. I am stronger and better now." Peter spatted.

I sighed and blocked a spell and then quickly casted one back. There was a full-on battle going on between us two. I was to focus on the battle that I didn't realize that everyone was waking up. You could hear footsteps and someone screaming,

"Contact the professors!"

"Peter what are you doing?" James asked.

Peter gave him this look. I knew what he was thinking. I looked to Ginny and she grabbed him and pulled him back. I placed a barrier around the students. I glared at Peter and said,

"You are not going to hurt anyone. I will not allow you."

"You think you are so strong. But you are just a weak little thing. You are nothing Mudblood." Peter stated.

Right then you saw the door of the common room swing open. There stood Professor McGonagall and Headmaster Dumbledore. He made Peter fly backwards and had him stunned. McGonagall quickly came over to me and asked,

"Dear are you alright?"

I nodded and said,

"He attacked me professor. He's one of them."

Dumbledore came over to him and rolled up his sleeve. There on his arm was the dark mark. Everyone in the room gasp. You heard from the back ground,

"Peter, why?" Sirius asked shocked.

I glanced over and saw him looking at Peter. I saw the hurt in the guys eyes. They just got stabbed in the back by someone that they trusted. I took the barrier down and saw my friends surrounding me. Sirius was right beside me.

"Are you alright?"

I nodded and slowly got up. I turned to Peter and said,

"You could have changed. But you made your chose."

We watched as Dumbledore and a few Professors took him away. McGonagall looked at everyone and said,

"Alright, everyone back to bed. Miss Recces you go see Madam Pomfrey."

I nodded but I felt weak and wabbly. I felt arms around me and I looked to see Sirius. He gave me a grin and said,

"I got you Mione."

We walked in silence to the hospital wing. I knew that Sirius was still processing everything. I felt bad for the boys. I knew Ginny was dealing with James and Remus. We sat there in silence and I let Madam Pomfrey do her thing. She told me to rest as she made some potions.

"How are you doing?" I asked.

"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that?" Sirius said.

"Yes, but I am not the one that found out one of his closest friend was a death eater. So how are you doing?" I asked.

He gave me a smile and said,

"I did not see it coming. He was so shy and quiet. I just don't know what to think about it. Here I thought he was our friend."

I gave him a hug and we sat there in each other's embrace. I knew I just made a huge change right there. Madam Pomfrey came back and gave me the potions. I asked,

"Can I leave? No offence. But I hate it here."

Madam Pomfrey just laughed and told me that I was able to leave. I hopped down from the bed and followed Sirius out. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we went back to the common room. Three faces looked at me and I went over to give James and Remus a hug.

"Are you alright?" Remus asked.

"I am fine. How about you two?" I asked.

They looked at each other and James said,

"I don't know if we will be alright right now. But we will be okay in the future. If we have each other. This is what true friends look like. We are family."

"I agree. We are family and we will always stick together." Ginny said.

She placed her head onto James' shoulder and we all just sat there in silence. Sirius squeezed in with me in the small chair. I laughed and just made room. I was almost onto his lap. But I did not care. We sat there looking at the fire. There was no where else I wanted to be right now but with them.
