Chapter 12

Title- Mixed Emotions

*Meredith's POV

"We really got you didn't we!" Austin came up to me with Sarah, Alex, Robert, Tyler, and Zach and hugged me. "Yeah you scared the shit out of me!" We all laughed. "So who planned all of this out?" they all turned and looked at Zach. He chuckled "Me!" I went up to hug him "Awww come here Zach! Thank you soo much! I love you! But why'd you do it?" He shrugged his shoulders "Everyone deserves to turn up on there birthday!" and with that the music started blasting.

"Damn y'all are good at hiding things! And you look so pretty!! " I said to Sarah. "Thank you!! It was really hard though! Robert was struggling to keep it a secret!" I got thinking was Bennett apart of this? "So just out of curiosity.. who all planned it?"

"Umm it was Zach's idea but Austin, Rob, Alex, Cole, Andrew, Tyler, and I" she said. "Oh so Bennett didn't help y'all?" I asked. "Oh yeah I forgot about him! He did! He just didn't help out as much." a wave of relief washed over me. I smiled "Is he here?" "Yeah he is somewhere!" I nodded in return and started looking for him.

I got a lot if happy birthdays and I returned them all with thank yous. Someone grabbed my waist "Hey I've been looking everywhere for you." I turned around with excitement expecting to see Bennett but I saw Ross? My ex-boyfriend that shattered my heart into a million pieces by cheating on me with my ex-bestfriend, is at my party?

I pushed him off me "Why in the hell are you here? Shouldn't you be in Alabama?" I spat out. "Damn baby no need to get feisty and your brother invited Elaine and me. Oh and we aren't together anymore so how bout you and I go back to the old times?" Elaine came up next to him all giddy. I'm now pissed. "Why. In. The. Hell. Would. My. Brother. Fucking. Invite. Y'all. You disgust me and so does Elaine, she's just a backstabbing bitch." I gritted through my teeth. I guess Elaine got my vibe and left but Ross didn't. I heard a bunch of ooooo's and noticed that a bunch of people were in a circle around us.

"You can't deny that I gave you the best days of your life. And you know that you want me back. No need to deny it. I mean you have been texting my phone saying how much you missed me." I laughed. "No the fuck I haven't and I have a boyfriend thank you very much. And if you're so damn sure that I've been texting you that bullshit then. Show. Me." I'm heated. He got quiet and just looked down at his feet. "That's what I fucking thought. Now if you'll excuse me I'd like to have a fun time at my party." I pushed pass him. "But-" I quickly cut him off and turned around "Shut the fuck up! God I need a beer." I walked off and went to the drinks and food area and got myself one. What you thought us teenagers wouldn't have alcohol? Well it's a Friday night and it's my 16th birthday. We're turning up.

I was struggling to get the cap off... Judge me. "Quite a performance you put on. Here let me help you." I turned around to see Rob and I gave him the bottle, he opened it with ease. "Thank you! And it wasn't a performance Ross just really pisses me off." "I could tell but it was hilarious how you put him on blast! Like he wasn't ready!" We both laughed. "Hate to get off topic but have you seen Bennett?" "No but you need to stop looking for him and come have fun with us! You need to turn up!" I nodded and we headed to the backyard. Austin's backyard was huge so it was the perfect place to have a party.

"Alright truth or dare, never have I ever, or dancing?" Robert asked. I saw Austin and Alex dancing like idiots and decide to go join them. I grabbed Rob and dragged him to go dance. "Hey baes!" I yelled so they could hear me over the music. "Hey Meezy!" Alex and Austin said in unison.

Teach me how to dougie came on and I took off my heels so I could do it. Austin and I were killing it together! We were having so much fun. Alex started recording us doing the dougie and I told him so send it to me.

We were doing the nae- nae then the music cut off and Zach came out with the mic "Alright I think it's time to sing happy birthday to our birthday girl! Austin come lead us!" Austin went up there and dragged me with him. He started singing then everyone else joined in. I forreal don't like having all the attention on me. I was smiling so hard and I put my head in Austin's chest. It was so loud because Zach invited like the whole damn school.

When they were done Zach said in the microphone "Happy 16th Birthday Mer we love you!" I yelled I love you and thank you back to him. He then had the DJ put the music back on.

I walked inside to get some water and someone grabbed my waist again. "I thought I already told you to leave me alone Ross!!!!" "Damn babe " I turned around and saw Bennett. "Where the fuck have you been?!" He laughed. "Getting this for you." he pulled out of his pocket a box and gave it to me. I started at it blankly. "Well open it!" I opened it and I was a gorgeous infinity necklace and on the back it said life isn't perfect but every second with you is. "Here let me put it on you." I gave it to him and he put it on me.

I turned around and he kissed me passionately. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist leaving barely any space between us. He asked for entrance and I gave it to him. It was getting heated but then someone cleared their throat so I pulled back. I looked over and saw Sarah.

"Um Meredith can I see you for a minute or two?" I sighed and looked at Bennett. "It's cool. Your friend needs you. Go." I pecked his lips quickly and mouthed thank you. I went over to Sarah.

"What do you need? I was kinda busy." I laughed. I was kinda on cloud 9 right now. We haven't done that for awhile. "I'm sorry but I'm not going to be a bad friend and not tell you. If I was in your situation I would want you to tell me." Sarah said nervously. My heart beat increased majorly.
