I stared at her in shock.

Did she just say-

Yeah. She said the words no father wants to hear come out of their daughter's mouth.

I lifted her up and placed feather kisses all over her face.

"I'm sorry baby girl. You should have never went through that."

If only I had been there for her when she needed me. No wonder she wished what she did.

Because if she wasn't a demigod Sally would have had no reason to marry Gabe.

And Percy could have had a much more stable childhood.

Percy rested her head in the crook of my neck.

"I'm so sorry. I should have paid more attention. I should have kept that from happening. I'm such a horrible father. I-" I was cut off as she covered my mouth.

"Just stop." She whispered voice filled with pain.

I nodded and she removed her hand.

Sighing I ran a piece of her hair through my fingers.

"I don't blame you Dad."

Her words made me tense up. She...she doesn't blame me?

But why?

"I love you Dad. And I know why you left. And I know if you had checked up on me Zeus probably would have noticed and killed me."

She's not wrong there.

"But I'm fine now. I mean yeah. There are some emotional scars. But demigods are born for war remember? We don't deal with stuff the same as mortals."

A smile tugged at my lips as she whispered that into my neck.

I moved a hand up behind her head. "I know baby. But just like you blame yourself for the deaths...I blame myself for this."

She curled her fingers in the material of my shirt.

"Besides you are my first demigod daughter. I feel like I screwed up big time." Some myths said I had a daughter with the queen of a city in Greece.

Not true. She just had a huge temper.

She let out a small chuckle. "Dad. You are the best dad ever."

My heart swelled. I shifted her slightly.

Maybe I should...

No.

We should. Not I.

"Percy?" I whispered in her ear.

"Hmm?" She mumbled.

"Do you want to go do something? Outside of camp?" I asked.

"Like what?" She moved so she could look at me.

"I don't exactly know. I was thinking like a father daughter day?"

I waited, my hopes slowly being suffocated as she didn't answer.

"Sure."

I smiled widely and twirled her around.

She shrieked. "Dad!"

I hastily stopped. Did I hurt her? Did that bring back any memories?

Turns out I didn't have to worry because she was laughing like crazy.

When she finally stopped she looked at me, smiling.

But that smile slowly faded.

She rested her head on my shoulder.
