Tell me your secret - Daniel Ricciardo

This one was request by HGatesAces I hope you will like it. I'll have to admit that it is the saddest one I wrote 😕

Hard night, nightmares are now current. You cry, you beg every night and when you wake up you fake a smile on your face and nobody knows what happening in your head. You have to be strong you have to face up. That was easy when you was alone, that was easier because you can hide what you want. Hiding secrets his part of your entire life, but few years ago you swear to yourself to be strong and keep pushing.
Australia nights are very warm in summer, you look at your phone it is 1 a.m and once again you was not able to sleep all night long. You wake up of your bed and go to the bathroom, your eyes are red and tears marks are on your face. You delicately sprinkle your face with cold water and take a deep breath. It's only a nightmare that will never happen again, never. You turn out the light,close the door and get back to your bed where you're lovely boyfriend is. Daniel sleeps like a baby, his soft curls are a little bit messy and he looks like really serene. You kissed his head before come back in your bed. Daniel put his arm on you waist, and pulls you closer. 'Where were you babe ?' He whispered with a sleepy voice. 'Just wake up, need some fresh air.. I guess. Don't worry' you said.

Dan kisses you shoulder and you cuddle, as he did that you started to panic and you suffocate a bit. Tears fall on your cheeks, you try to hide your state at this moment but Daniel noticed immediately. He puts the light on, look at you and grab you his his arms. You are crying, your breath is jerky and you panic. Daniel used to confort you, he knows how to do. He slowly fondle your cheek 'I am here babe, always be and always will.' And he kisses softly your messy hair and your weak face.

You breath is now more regular and you stopped to cry. 'Are you ok ?' Dan asked you, you nodded and looked down. You feel ashamed, almost every night he had to do this and almost every night he is the kindest and the carriest boyfriend. And the worst thing is you can't tell him why, it's too hard, the injury is too important. 'I am sorry Dan... again' you said with a low voice.

'Babe, Y/N, please tell me your secret' Daniel asked you. He diserves to know, but words are congested. Your hands started to shake, your heart beat faster. Daniel won't judged you, he is not like that. And you have a true faith in him, you know you can trust him and tell your life story.

'He was seventeen Dan, only seventeen...' was your first sentence. He looked at you, you're still in his arm 'take your time, deep breath babe. You can trust me I promise you.' He continued.

'He crashed... In a car accident, it was his second race. In a kart...' You continued. Everyday, every second you thought of him. And how crazy you are to be in this world again, doing this job. Cars is my your life, your present, your dad past and your lovely future.

'You know why I am a race engineer ? Because my little brothers Jules asked me to do this job when he was child. He asked me to do that, because when he will be a formula one pilot he will hire me in his team' You continued drying your  tears which fall on your face.
'So I start studying aerodynamics and this like that, every week end I supported him at his race. My brother was pretty talented. But one day, 6 year ago now he crashed.' You barely shout while suffocating.

Dan's eyes started to be wet, he hugged me harder. He finally knows, you are dating since few month now but You were not capable to tell him that.
'I saw his kart in this turn, and every night this moment replayed on my mind, since I met you. Since I met you, sometimes I saw my brother die sometimes it's you in the kart. And you know why it's harder ? Because it's like I live to lost in one crash. And at every race, every free practice I am so scared to loose you. I can't loose someone I loved one more time.'

When you slept, you can see the scene like it was real. The front wings break, the right tyre exploded in the first turn. His car hit the wall and the spine is touched. You heard the loud alarm of ambulance and security coming closer. Jules doesn't move anymore, you cried and your parents are next to you. The race stopped, the silence is everywhere. The crowd can only hear your begged his name.

Daniel said nothing, you feel now released and relieved. It is like a weight on your shoulders was gone. Daniel puts his two hands on your cheeks, his lovely look lost in yours and he kisses you.
'I didn't realize how bad you feel. Honey, I am so sorry to hear that and I understand better your scared. You can tell me anything, I always be here when you need me. I always will for you. I love you Y/N, really love you. I will protect you, I will supported you as long as you need me' he solftly said.

'When things were better, in my mind but inside too I promise him something. I always be a race engineer and I could achieve his dream. Cars are my entire life I can't deny that.' You replied to Daniel.

'Then, protect me. Be always by my side in all day life and as you already are in the garage' was Daniel last answer.

He puts the lights off, kisses me entrelace his fingers between mine and whispered 'you don't have to cry anymore, I love you.'
