"You know you don't have to stay the whole summer, right?" My mom asked as I put the last suitcase into the taxi cab. I honestly didn't know they had taxis here, but my thoughts were proven wrong.
"I want to, mom." I said and she gave me an understanding smile.
Since yesterday, I've did nothing but pack, words can't describe how much I want to leave this hell whole for two whole months. Two hole months of freedom from Noah. Two whole months from the Courtney memories. Two months. That's all I have.
"Be safe and call me immediately whenever you get to Georgia." She cupped my cheeks and planted a firm kiss on my forehead. I gave her a smile before opening the taxi door. My mom tucked a piece of blonde hair behind her ears and waved me off. She stood, crossed armed, watching me leave. I know how hard it's going to be on her for two months without me, she has no one.
Whenever dad left, I was all she had, I'm all she's ever had. That's probably the reason I stopped going to my grandparents house, because my mom didn't want me to leave her.
But this summer, she insist that I visit for the summer, and I am perfectly fine with it. I need a break, maybe it will help.
-
I drifted off a few hours ago, and suddenly woke up at the perfect time.
Georgia was in my eye sight, and I couldn't take the smile off my face. My excitement overwhelmed me, and I was practically jumping in my seat, receiving an odd look from the driver.
"Is this the place?" He asked, raising his left eyebrow, I couldn't help but giggle, and I think he was offended.
I nodded and instantly budged the door open, taking the big house that I've always loved in my site. The familiar smell of salty ocean filled my scent. I ran to the trunk and plopped my luggage out onto the road, I payed the cab driver and carried my bags to the door.
I didn't even have to knock, my grandma was standing in the doorway with the familiar oversized smile of hers.
"Oh, Breanna, you've grown into such a beautiful young lady!" She gaped, taking in my appearance. I didn't know how to respond, so I just smiled at her. She me me into the house, I set my luggage down to get a good glimpse at the house I haven't seen in ages. The same ole fish tank in the corner reminded me of the time Taylor and I went fishing down by the ocean and I fell in. I was scared out of my life, but at the same time I remember myself not being able to stop laughing.
Before I knew it, I was in my grandmas arms, her grip was tight as she rubbed my bag.
"Look at you," she leaned back, looking at me again, "what are you? Fifteen? Sixt-"
"I'm sixteen." I cut her off with a smile, "where's grandpa?" I asked.
"He's down at the shop, he tried taking off work, but they wouldn't let him." She said mumbling a few curse words afterwords. I didn't realize how much I missed her and her silly personality.
"I really miss him." I said looking into the mirror that was on the wall.
"Oh darlin, he misses you too. He talks about you all the time." She couldn't help but to laugh, neither could I.
I haven't seen then in such a long time.
"When will he be back?" I asked, I really wanted to see him.
"In a couple of hours, or he may come home early if he bribes his boss." She laughed once again, and I did my little fake laugh so she won't feel bad.
"You haven't seen Taylor in a long time." Her voice carried off to the kitchen, and I followed her.
"I know." I was all I could put out to say. Words can't describe how much I miss him. We went from being inseparable to never talking again..
"We can invite him to dinner if you want, I'll tell him that your down." She said, and I nodded my head in excitement.
The fact that he lives next door makes me even more excited.
"So, do you have a boyfriend?" She smirked at me, and I felt my heart ache just a little more.
