(y/n)'s POV

"Are you sure you want to go?" Chris asked. We were standing outside my childhood home, Chris' arm around my shoulder and Dan's hand on mine.

"I guess. She's expecting me and if I don't show up she's going to talk shit and if I do." I paused looking up at Dan.

"She'll talk shit." I said.  Chris knocked and Dan lowered his face to my ear.

"Does your mum really act like that?" Dan whispered.

"Yeah, I guess. Chris is her favorite." I whispered back. He planted a kiss on my cheek and the door opened.

"Chris! How are you my baby!" My mom said, pulling him into a hug.

"And you must be Daniel, Chris' friend." My mom said, smiling at him.

"And (y/n)'s girlfriend" He said, giving my hand a squeeze.

"Who?" I sighed, raising me hand and she looked over at me.

"Oh, right." she said, letting us inside. Dan looked over at me with a sympathetic look. I shrugged my shoulders.

"You know Daniel, My friend has a daughter who is free you should talk to." My mom said, as we sat down at the table.

"No, that's quite alright. I'm very happy with your DAUGHTER." Dan said.

"Well, just know you have options." she said. I sighed and placed my head on the table.

"(y/f/n)(your full name) Get your head off my table!" She shouted. She scurried, like the rat she was, into the kitchen.

"My god, she loves the table more than you." Chris said, looking over at the doorway she had exited.

"Thanks, that helps Chris." I said. My mum walked in and sat down next to Chris, avoiding my eye contact. She was embarrassed of me. I should be embarrassed of her. She filled up the plates, handing me mine.

"You could stand to lose some you know." She said, glancing at me. I looked to see my plate had less food and I looked down. I had always been on the skinnier side and I had come to a happy medium now, after long teenage years of anorexia. No one knew about it of course except Chris and he shot my mother a glare. She was the reason I had done that to myself. I pressed my lips together in a thin line.

"You're welcome." She said, as if she though she actually deserved a thank you.

"Sorry, Thanks." I mumbled. The dinner was full of small criticizing and Chris taking up most of the conversation. God bless.

After everyone was done, I took up all the plates and dishes on instinct and headed to the kitchen. I always did the dishes. I stood emptying my entire meal into the garbage. I had lost my appetite. Just like she wants.

"(y/n)?" Dan asked. I looked over at him standing in the doorway.

"Yes?" I asked. I could tell I sounded exhausted because I was. Just being around her was too draining. She makes me feel weak. I scrubbed angrily at the plate in my hand, listening to the squeak of the rag against the ceramic.

"How are you Cinderella?" He asked after a moment of silence.

I didn't answer.

"What was that about losing some? Why didn't you eat?" He asked. I sighed, scrubbing harder.
