Shadow walked to her class, ignoring the constant "Please don't kill me!" and "Murderer" that echoed through the hall as she walked past. She took her seat, alone, and pulled out her book and pencil case.

The teacher walked in alongside another tall boy. Another new guy. They talked and gestured to each other, while Shadow picked up that they were talking about the class and that the new kid could pick any seat. He walked to the back, smiled at Shad and put his hand on the chair out next to her. "Uh... Can I sit here?"

Shadow nodded and he took a seat. He had dark purple, almost blue hair and fiery red eyes. A work book got thrown at him, the person who threw it yelling "You might want to move... She's a murderer."

"Oh... Is that so? I didn't think murderers would be so nice!" He argued back, calmly before turning to Shadow.

"Hey, I'm Benjamin, but everyone calls me Bonnie!" He smiled with bright eyes

"I'm Shadow, but you can call me Shad." She looked up at him.

"Uh, can I just ask... what's this?" he laughed "I mean, obviously its a book, but like... what should I write?"

"Oh, for a minute there I thought you were completely stupid." she said, sarcastically. "Write your name and the class code... here, copy this ." she flicked to the cover of her book and allowed him to copy a series of numbers and letters.

They finished all the work quickly and spent the rest of the lesson talking.

"So... uh, by all means feel free to say no comment but can I just ask, why do they call you a murderer... I mean, you're really sweet and quiet?" he asked, quietly.

"Something... Something my dad did a long time ago...I'm surprised you didn't pick up on my last name..." she whispered, Bonnie saw that tears were threatening to fall from her eyes. "Its Afton... you probably know now, but, uh, I'd rather not say anything else." her voice began to crack and a single tear rolled down her cheek, which she tried to wipe away and hide, but he still noticed.

"Don't cry!" Bonnie pulled her close to him, holding her, "Its fine! its fine! I'm sorry."

She looked up and dried her eyes. "Its not your fault... you didn't know. You're new..." She smiled, before looking at the clock. Just under half an hour left.

He noticed she was beginning to zone out. Bonnie tapped Shad on the shoulder and without thinking, she turned quickly and hit his face. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I'm so, so sorry!" she looked down. "It just with... Uh, with certain people being around, I developed a reflex for slapping anyone who taps me..." she looked at the desk sheepishly.

"Hey, its fine, see? No harm done!" they laughed and the bell went off for the next class. "hey, I'll see you in the lunch hall?"

"Sure!" Shad smiled

"I'll be waiting for you!" and with that, Bonnie was off.

"Oh well... one down... three to go!" she moaned, before heading off to Geography class.

A repeat of the previous lesson happened, but instead of one, there were twins. A brunet and a blond walked over to her and sat at the desk. The brown haired one had blue eyes ad the blond had dark brown eyes. "Hey, I'm Fredrick and this is Alfred. Please call us Freddy and Gold, though!" the brunet said, tapping his brother.

"Hi, I'm Shad!" she smiled, her confidence beginning to grow with the new group. A repeat of the "Murderer" incident happened, but the boys fought for her. She thanked them both before helping them with their books. The lesson flew by, and she now had four friends.

The incident with her father had ruined her life, and she was only just starting to put the pieces back together...
