Saturday.
Shadow was in her room playing the keyboard, Bonnie was messing with his guitar and Foxy kept untuning it. Freddy and Gold were arguing again and Chica was baking. Shadow desperately wanted to go back to the old house to try and find something else, but nobody would let her leave. They had a good reason to, Afton was still on the loose, but they were taking it a little too seriously.
"Look, its not a far way to walk, Its a private field and it all belongs to me anyway. We can take something in defence..."
"Shadow. We are not going."
"I'm nearly an adult. I can look after myself."
"Yeah right. You can barely walk in a straight line!"
"Shut up. I've kept all of you alive, right?"
"Uh... I guess? Well... Technically"
"We dont talk about that. That was out of my control... I can walk for less than half an hour to my own property and I can look around my own house."
"No."
"Why?"
"Because, He's still out there."
"And tell me, What's he gonna do? So far, he had every day for over 10 years and since he escaped to kill me. If he was going to, why hasn't he?"
"He probably wants you to think that. He'll get you when you least expect it."
"Tell you what. I'm going out. I don't care what happens. I can go by myself. Tag along if you want, but I swear I can manage myself. I can run the distance in five minutes flat easily."
"Shady,"
"I dont care. I'll be back soon."
She pulled on her jacket and left, locking the door behind her.
"I'll show them. Its fine. Just walking through a small field towards a house... Simple."
She walked to the field, unlocking the stiff gate as she reached it. The field was untidy and the grass was long.
"I feel bad for leaving them, but it's not a far walk. I can run back in m five minutes flat." She muttered, feeling for the knife in her pocket.
The garage door was still unlocked as she dragged it back, noticing a few of the boxes looked out of place.
"Huh. Didn't know we'd moved so much of it." She said, looking at a box that was simply labeled 'Schools' in a messy scrawl. She sat in the centre of the room and opened the box. Inside was a variety of pictures and more newspaper clippings. Some about the tragedies that took place, some about Mike in a range of performances and others about awards.
"Seems my siblings were pretty popular..."
She continued going through the boxes, finding little information. But then there was one box. Right at the back on the top shelf.
"'Work'? I guess there's more..." She lifted the box down and set it in the centre of the room.
There was a dark purple shirt, a discoloured gold 'security' badge. On the back, 'Vincent' was written, slightly worn but it was unmistakable. On the shirt were random splashes of a dark, off- coloured brown.
Further in the box were notes, wage slips and paper clippings. Some about the opening of the pizzeria, some about the murders. She took a glance around, feeling slightly uneased by the situation. Then it hit her like a brick to the face. The stains on the shirt were bloodstains. Being accident-prone, she knew for a fact that blood on clothes goes an off coloured crimson-brown color, and she knew for a fact that Afton will not have been tidy when he killed the children.
Putting the stuff back in the box, and then placing the boxes back on the shelf, Shadow still felt like something was off. But then again, she had left without the others and gone back to a place where she had spent her childhood with a murderer.
As she stepped back outside, an icy wind blew back. She followed the path up to the house. The door was still intact, but unlocked. On the table in the room was a small slip of paper. No-one from the group could've left it, seen as Shad was the last one out and she had conducted a thorough search before they left.
Nothing else had changed. Just that one slip of paper on the table. She walked over to it, still cautious and weary of her surroundings.
The note read: 'Shadow. I know you came back. I'm not stupid. I also know that you're living with them. I am fully aware that your adopted mother is away and that you're staying with five. Specifically, five of my victims. As I said, I'm not stupid. Feel free to take things. I dont mind. Just know that if you do something out of order, I will find you. It would be a shame, as well. My last child, ratting out her father to a point where she causes a threat. Take this note. Just remember, Your handwriting is the same as mine. I've seen it. I'll see you again, when I come back. After all, I always do...'
She pocketed the note and left, but one thing caught her eye. A small door that lead down. From deep under the house was a faint, almost inaudible song. Without hesitation, she left the house. The door was locked again and the garage had been secured, before she made a break for the gate. Just outside was a main road. There, she would be safe. Well, safer, anyway.
It didn't take long for her to speed walk back to her home and unlock the door, where five figures instantly jumped up.
"You were gone for ages!"
"And I made it back alive... What were you saying that it was dangerous, Foxy? If you really were that worried about me, you'd have realised that I'd left the back door and the gate into the back garden unlocked, just in case!"
"Hey, In my defence," Bonnie began yelling, before Gold gave him the 'quiet down a bit or I will rip your head off' action, "I said that you were capable of taking care of yourself, It's your father that we need to be weary of..."
"Yeah right! And none of you tried to actually stop me. You just told me to stop."
"We trust you, and Chica pointed out that you had taken one of the knives literally seconds after you had closed the door..."
"YEs but next time, dont argue with me. I'm sure you can tell that I'm stubborn and I do what I want. Anyway... Food. What do we all want? Takeout?" She smiled, before handing out a few menus and a notepad and pen.
