Jay And His Suspicions

"Will Lloyd even come back and take us down?" Jay asks. "I believe he did this to get back at Kai for earlier." Zane says. Jay glared at Kai and the hothead didn't say anything to defend himself. "I want to know why the heck you dressed like that, Kai. I mean, you do realize that Lloyd might hold a grudge against you for that?" Cole asks. Kai only shrugged and the guys weren't buying his silence.

But it was Jay who literally screamed to get everyone's attention. "NYA WE NEED SOME HELP HERE!" he yelled. Kai just stayed quiet and it started to irritate Jay quite a bit. Nya appeared and giggled at the site. "Jay, I thought you were working on the smoke machine for the party?" She asks through giggle fits. Jay groans but wriggles to try and free himself. Kai seemed very off and even though Jay thought that Kai is just upset, he didn't see a spark of anger in his eyes. But he thought he saw some mischief?

Jay pushed it aside as he felt himself freed by Nya. "Thanks Nya. Lets free the others." He says. She nods but Cole caught Jay's eye. "Jay, Nya, I need to ask you two something." He whispered. The two went over to the hanging Cole and Jay started working on the binds. "What you need Cole? We're all ears." Jay says. Cole falls on the floor and stood up.

"Thanks. So I think something's going on with Kai. He isn't one for pulling jokes on people. Especially Lloyd of all people, who was very frightened by the outburst. Maybe there's something that those two are hiding. But I just wanted to tell you guys my suspicions." Cole says. Jay kept glancing to Kai and couldn't figure out what to do with him.

"What should we do with Kai then?" Jay found himself asking. "I guess lock him in a closet. Because that's what you wanted to do with Lloyd when Kai scared him." Cole says bluntly. "Hey! There's nothing wrong with putting people in closets to keep them safe. Especially if Zane adds pillows for comfort!" Jay says.

"That's not the point. For all we know, Lloyd went ahead and planted more traps to prank us. It is near Halloween, so we get the tricks and he gets the treats. So we need to get Lloyd and Kai to solve whatever is happening between each other and enjoy the Halloween." Cole says. Nya looked at the two and took a look behind them to see Zane was the only one left hanging.

"Dangit! Why weren't we watching him? For all we know, Kai is actually corrupted again and he might pull worse tricks than Lloyd can! And I still have to get the costumes Nya and I ordered." Jay whines. Nya gives Jay a hug and that calmed him down. "Now that both Kai and Lloyd are out somewhere, we should finish the decorations and then we go find our friends. We can't let the Halloween party be a bum! Let's get working." Nya says.

⚡🎃⚡🎃A Few Minutes Later⚡🎃⚡🎃

After they got Zane down, the four made haste and finished the decorations and the food. They all sat on the couch admiring their hard work. Jay tested the smoke machine and sure enough, it gave a spooky feel to the room. He took a long sip of water and sighed in relief. "We finally finished." Cole says. "Sensei will be very pleased with our effort." Zane comments.

"Now that we finished, CAN WE GO FIND KAI AND LLOYD BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS!?" Jay bursts. The three nod and split into groups. Jay unfortunately got Cole instead of Nya but he hid it. Jay and Cole check the room first and they found traces that Kai had been there. When they found the guest room, they found Lloyd staring at the night sky.

Jay's POV

I run over to Lloyd and he gave me the look of 'why the heck are you hugging me?' I release him and Cole closed the door in case someone came in. "What do you guys want?" Lloyd asks. I heard his quiet sniffles and looked at him. "Are you alright bud? Did Kai get you that good?" I ask. Lloyd shook his head and I saw his gaze drop to a photo on the floor. "Lloyd, we came to find you. But, maybe we should let you be alone." Cole says.

We start for the door when Lloyd blocked it. "Please don't leave! I- I really don't know why I pranked you guys. I just felt like I didn't have the Tomorrow's Tea and I was young again. I miss my dad so much and I'll never get to celebrate any holidays with him. I lost him and my mom for as long as I was at Darkly's before I met you guys in Jamikai Village. When I got to see my dad again, it was to save me from Pythor. I only met my mom at the museum when we had to stop the giant stone warrior. But my last time seeing my dad was during my fight with Morro. We went through some of the realms and I got to see my dad right before Sensei brought me back." Lloyd says.

I felt bad for him and I really wish I can understand what he's been through. I mean, I only just found out that I was adopted and I got my best friend back from being a ghost. But I did my best to calm Lloyd down. "Its okay Lloyd. Everything will be better soon." I say. Cole happened to have dosed off guarding the door. "I really miss him Jay. I miss my dad!" Lloyd whimpers. Now I felt stumped. How do I help him when I need to figure out what happened to Kai before something bad happens. I let Lloyd lay his head on my lap as he fell asleep. Hopefully Nya and Zane found Kai and got something out of him.
