Jay's Betrayal

The ninja were running.
Even though they knew that something must've made him do it. Who is him you may be asking? Him is the one chasing the ninja. Or what's left after what happened earlier.

*Earlier this afternoon*

The ninja were training as Sensei Wu would always have them do. But once they finished, they went to the game room to relax. Kai, Jay, Zane, Cole, and Lloyd were competing to see who would have to do the week's chores. Nya would be working on a little project, if the guys hadn't asked her to judge their game.

She reluctantly agreed and watched them. By the end, it was only Jay and Kai. Both knew what was at stake but one got an idea. Jay went ahead and took out a little remote he had tinkered and pressed a button.

Kai felt himself get pulled away from the TV and his controller fell out of his hands. With the distraction, Jay won and started to dance around. Kai struggled to get free when he realized that it was Zane who grabbed him.

"Zane let go of me!" Kai says. Cole and Lloyd notice and help Kai get free. "I do not know what has happened. I am sorry if I hurt you Kai. Some unknown source was controlling my system." Zane says once he came to.

Jay was still dancing until Kai decided to tackle him. "K-Kai!" Jay screams as he was weighed down by the Master of Fire. "You made Zane grab me just so you could win!" Kai yells. Jay stopped struggling and looked at Kai. "Why would I do that? I mean, I would've only messed up your controller. Not use Zane against you." Jay says.

Kai lit his hand with fire and before he could strike Jay, Sensei came in and Nya squirted Kai to put the fire out. "What were you thinking Kai! You do not hurt your teammate just because you lost a match of the video game." Sensei says.

Kai got off of Jay and Jay got up from the floor. "I'm sorry Sensei and I'm sorry Jay for almost burning you." Kai says. "Heh, I should've expected it from you hothead. But, I'm glad I wasn't roasted because I really want to go work on some stuff." Jay says.

He rushes out of the room and Sensei made Kai clean up as a punishment. Once Jay got to his room, he took the remote out and began to tweak it. As he was finishing up, Nya came in to see if he wanted to come eat dinner.

Jay felt Nya tap his shoulder and he shoved everything he was working on into a drawer. "Nya! Hey, I didn't see you come in. So, what do you want?" Jay asks warmly. "Ah, dinners ready and you're usually the first one at the table. Is something wrong Jay?" She asks.

Jay rapidly shakes his head. "No! I mean, I didn't realize the time. I'll be down in a minute." He says. Nya nods and walks out. Jay sighs in relief and quickly finished the remote and slipped it into his pocket.

By the time Jay got to the dining room, he heard sighs of relief and annoyance from Cole and Kai. "Lets dig in already!" Cole says already putting stuffing on his plate. Kai just groaned but Jay had a small grin as he touch the remote in his pocket.

Midway through dinner, Jay decided to see if the remote would work better on Zane than it did during the video game. He presses a button on it and then he began to finish his meal. Just as he cleaned off the last of his food, he watched as Zane froze the table.

Everyone was surprised by this and Jay acted along. Kai was about to use his fire to melt the table when Zane shot ice his way. "Zane! Watch where you're shooting. You almost messed up my hair." Kai says ducking another blow of ice.

Soon, everyone went to the deck to have space to fight Zane if it came to it. "Why the heck is Zane trying to hurt me!?" Kai yells. Sensei shushes Kai and looks to the others. "From what happened earlier, Zane said he was being hacked. If I can find out where the source of it is, we'll find the location of the person whose hacking Zane." Nya says.

Sensei Wu nods and points to Lloyd, Cole, Kai, and Jay. "You four must hold Zane so Nya can find the source. Good luck ninja." He says. They each nod and ran back inside. Jay reached into his pocket to press another button and a faint chuckle escaped his lips.

By the time they found Zane, Jay quickly went up to Zane and powered him down. "Uh, that was easy. Lets get him to Nya." Lloyd says. Cole picks him up with Kai's help while Jay stayed back to hide the remote under the floorboards. Cliché but its the best he could think of before he made his way to the others.

Nya finished the scan the moment Jay walked in and he slides himself over to Nya. "So, what's wrong with Zane?" Jay asks. "Nya said that our hacker is on the bounty." Cole says. "But how? We're like in the air and nothing has gotten on." Jay says.

"I don't know but once I find them, I'm going to make them regret messing with the ninja." Kai says sternly. Jay makes a sound but kept calm and quiet. He doesn't know why he's doing this but, a voice keeps telling him to do this.

"We'll have to have Zane rebooted and maybe he can help us. Until then, keep an eye out for strange movements. Even if it means staying near this person's location, we need to find them." Nya says.

The four leave and Jay went to grab the remote when he heard Kai from behind. "Jay, what are you doing?" He asks slowly. Jay stood still but the voice in his head wanted him to press the button.

As Kai slowly came towards Jay, Cole and Lloyd came in and soon Jay was surrounded. "What's in your hand Jay? If its the thing hacking Zane, you need to give it to Nya." Lloyd says.

"You don't know if it was controlling Zane or not. I could just be holding the TV remote and you'd still accuse me. I'm sorry guys but, I have to do this." Jay says. He shot lightning to an outlet and the lights went out.

"Jay!" Kai yells. Jay had run out of the room by the time the lights came back on. "He betrayed us. He's using Zane to get what he wants!" Kai was practically seething with rage. Cole held him back but Lloyd turned to them.

"We need to get to Nya and stop whatever has gotten into Jay. He's our friend and he would never hurt us." Lloyd says. They reach Nya and see Jay and Zane had her tied up. "Nya!" Kai says.

He was about to run to her but Zane froze him in place. "Kai!" Nya yells. "Let me go Jay! This isn't you." She says. Jay ignored her and he pressed a button to freeze Lloyd and Cole down as well.

"I didn't want to do this but it had to happen. If I give you a head start, you need to get to the junkyard before Zane and I catch you. The one who gets there wins and I will give them the reward." Jay says.

"What's the reward?" Kai spat. Jay smirked at Kai and his other friends. "You'll know when you get there. Now you better hurry because you don't have long until we start." Jay says.

Kai melts the ice on him, Cole, and Lloyd. Then Nya is freed from the rope and they run out of the room. Sensei joined them and they ran. The ticker that Jay had provided was how long until the chase began.
