Raven Boy| Chapter 1: The Raven Boy

Trudging through the back alleys of Ninjago city, I went to my desired location. I wasn't new to the bullying and wanting to stay out of the public eye. My uncle told me that I shouldn't care what others say about me. Just because people are familiar with my snobby birth parents, they continue to mess with me whenever I showed my face. I looked like an exact mirror image of them and it made me feel sick. Related to people who left me and claim to have no time for children. Being superior business people is clearly more important than having a family.

I kicked a pebble as I walked until I heard a grunt of pain with my final kick. Glancing up from the ground, I saw a raven headed boy holding his hand to his eye. My first instinct was to retreat and hope that he didn't see me. But my body moved towards him instead.

"I'm so sorry! I wasn't trying to hit anyone! I hope I haven't impaired your vision." I stated in a worried tone. The Raven boy turned to look at me and he chuckled softly. Then I realized he was part of Lloyd's friend group. "I'm fine. I've been hit by rocks before and those don't compare to a pebble. I'm Cole by the way." Cole introduced.

"So Garmadork's friend is trying to recruit the very person who resembles my famous Aunt M/n and Uncle F/n? Must think having an outcast with the looks of people better than them. Is Garmadork really that desperate?" Chen's voice mocked. I growled as I watched him walk up to us.

'I'm related to this asshole? Good thing no one knows because that'd make things worse for me. "Why don't you get lost, Chen. I'm not associated with Lloyd and don't even get me started on those snobs you call Aunt and Uncle." I hissed. "Watch what you say next L/n. Lay a finger on me and you'll be in a world of hell." Chen threatened.

Being the headstrong person I was, I went to attack the asshole. Chen smirked, watching me test him. Cole then intervened and kept us apart. "Both of you stop it." Cole stated. "Stay out of this. This is between me and this prick." I growled.

I shove Cole out of the way just as Chen's friends showed up, blocking my objective. Cole's friends also arrived and held me back. I struggled to free myself and glared at Chen. "Garmadork and his squad have finally arrived. Really think I'm wrong?" Chen asked.

I went to respond when my uncle's voice cut me off. "Y/n. What have I told you about starting fights? You know its only going to hurt us in the end." He stated gruffly. Relaxing my body, I nodded. "I'm sorry, Uncle Ronin. I'll be sure to keep my temper in check next time." I responded.

"Ronin is an uncle!? I never took him to be family material." A ginger piped in Lloyd's group. Ronin grunts as he turned towards Chen and his group. "You mess with my niece again and you'll be my next bounty. Now get lost!"

Chen glares at me, his friends snickering as they left. Then my uncle turned towards Lloyd and his friends. "Don't think I've forgotten about you six. The fact that trouble follows you means trouble for Y/n. Do me a favor and keep your distance from her." Ronin states. "Last time we saw you was during the resistance." The girl pointed out.

I cocked my head in confusion but my uncle waved it off. "Sorry sweetheart. I've got places to go, bounties to collect. And collecting my niece is my current objective." Ronin states. He does his signature whistle and R.E.X flies down to us. "You still have R.E.X?" The ginger asked. I rolled my eyes as I climbed inside.

"You know, I would've been fine on my own against Chen." I pointed out. "And I've got to take you to meet my sister and her sons. They're your age and intelligent for that matter." He states. I watch him salute to Lloyd and his friends and we were off.

"So, what are they like? My cousins?" I asked. "Simon and Charlie? Only the most genius twins I've ever met. My sister Reyla had them the moment she graduated from college. Simon actually gets bullied for being a nerd at school. And Charlie is the only one to protect him." Ronin explained.

"You've never told me much about your family." I pointed out. He chuckles. "Its free real estate, kid. I could have the craziest life and you wouldn't know until someone talks about it." I glanced at him as he smirked. "So, how did you meet Lloyd and his friends?" I asked a few minutes later.

My uncle nearly chokes on air and grips the steering wheel tight. "Those kids? Its- its complicated, kiddo. You could say it was pure coincidence that we met. Anyways, you don't need to know." He gruffly states. I frowned but sighed in understanding.

We soon land in the lawn of a wealthy family's house. "Are you sure Aunt Reyla lives here?" I asked. Ronin gestures to a boy my age sprinting towards us. His yellow eyes and ginger hair were actually cute. "Uncle Ronin! What'd you bring for us this time?" The boy asked.

"Simon! Don't flock him! He just got here with Y/n." Another male voice stated. Simon groans as a boy similar in appearance walked up to us. His hair was on the borderline of ginger and brunette. And his yellow eyes scowled at Simon. "Charlie, don't you think you're being harsh on your brother? I don't give two shits if you flock my ass or not. Just meet your cousin Y/n." Ronin groaned.

Simon and Charlie both jumped at the chance to shake my hand first. "Uncle Ronin never told us he had another kid besides his daughter Katie." Simon states. "Katie is fun to be around. But I hardly see her because her mom thinks I'll cause trouble." I explained.

"Where's your mother boys?" Uncle Ronin asked. "Making dinner. She wanted to give you and Y/n something special tonight." Charlie states. "I'm going to assume she's making her Alfredo sauce spaghetti. The sauce is amazing and you'll love it." Simon added, a slight mischievous glint in his yellow eyes.

"I think I'll pass. I'd recommend you do the same Y/n but, Reyla will insist that you try it. You won't see me eating her food after what she tried to pull and got caught for." Ronin states. "What'd she do that was so bad?" I asked.

"She tried to, in a sense, poison everyone by using Great Devourer venom in food she cooked. Guess after the ninja and Lord Garmadon killed the beast, it's venom was released all over the city. And she decided to experiment with it and managed to extract enough of the venom to not have major effects on people. Consuming the venom gives the person a slightly lower temper and they get red eyes when they have anger issues." Ronin explained.

I cocked my head to make sure I heard that right. My aunt made it possible to eat evil. And that it doesn't have any bad effects on the consumer. "It's still a surprise that our father stays to deal with her. To have a rich father because he's the top dog in business society, has its perks." Charlie states.

"Ronin? Are the twins keeping you from coming inside? They have been excited to see you." A melodious voice stated, getting louder by the second. When a nicely dressed female came to a stop in front of us, I noticed how her eyes were half blue and half red. And it was eerie to see someone with Heterochromia.

"Reyla, this is my adopted niece Y/n. Y/n, meet my sister Reyla." Ronin introduced. "Oh. You look amazing dear! I'm glad I decided to make my special spaghetti tonight!" Reyla exclaims. I chuckled nervously as I watched her stare at me. "Why don't we head inside and prepare for dinner? I'm almost done with the meat loaf that will side the spaghetti covered in my Alfredo sauce." She states.

We all walk inside of the house and I gasp in amazement. It looked so big on the outside but its just as snug as a normal house. Simon tugged my sleeve and whispered in my ear. "Come with me. I want to show you something." He spoke. Glancing toward my aunt, uncle, and Charlie, we make our quiet escape upstairs. I think I'll get along with my adoptive cousins just fine. The only other thing nagging at the back of my head was Cole's raven head and his soft voice ringing like an echo from earlier.
