Forever Together

They remember.

Memories flow like a stream down a mountain. Each of them remembering a special time. Kai during the beginning and tournament, Jay & Nya during the erased skybound adventure, Zane during Ninjago's final Overlord confrontation, Cole during Day of the Departed. And Lloyd within present time. Let’s start with Kai when the ninja first came together.

Kai’s POV

I’m whacking the hammer on the hot metal of the sword. I dip it into the bucket of water and when I take it out, it was twisted making me groan in frustration. “Patience Kai. If Father were here he’d say-” my sister says but I cut her off.

“Yeah yeah. I know. No matter how much fire you have, experience is something you don’t learn overnight. That may work for you, Nya but I’m going to be a better blacksmith than Dad ever was.” I said fired up.

Just as I set my messed up sword down beside the forge, I hear an old man’s voice. “Your metal is loud and heavy. Useful to slow one down. Useless in stealth. All tools for a samurai, but nothing for a ninja?” He asked. I looked at him confused.

“Ninja? You’re a long ways away from finding one in these parts, old man. And the shop is called Four Weapons not Four Browsing. Either buy something or go peddle your insults somewhere else.” I say shoving him a little with my finger.

“Ha! Thought I’d find something special here.” The old man says walking away. I look to Nya and she motions towards the man. “If its something special you’re looking for-” I stop finding no one behind me. “Where’d he? Ugh, never mind.” I groaned.

A few minutes later, I started hearing loud motors and people from our village screaming in terror. Nya and I glance outside and see giant skeleton motorcycles with skeletons riding them. I grab a sword from inside and put on some armor.

“Stay inside.” I said walking out. One skeleton holding a boney sword came up to me swinging. I went to decapitate it but its head jumped. While I was fighting another skeleton, the head of the skeleton I tried decapitating bit my ankle.

“Ow! Bite this!” I said kicking the skeleton head like a soccer ball. It flies over the shop and then I hear bones rattle. I look over to find Nya had taken out two skeletons with a staff. “I thought I told you to stay inside?” I asked.

“What? And let you have all the fun?” Nya asks as well fought back to back. We take down the skeletons and with my last one, a bigger one jumped in front of me. I chuckled raising my sword. The skeleton chuckled as well as I watched him take out his four daggers with four arms.

“Oops.” I say as Four-Arm slashed at me. I tried blocking his attacks but he takes my sword from me and kicks me down. I thought I was done for when I heard and saw a golden tornado. “Ninja-Go!” The voice of the old man said. The golden tornado hits Four-Arm and the old man from earlier is revealed.

I try to get up but the heavy armor kept me down. I saw daggers fly overhead as the old man does his tornado again to save me from the falling water tower. When I got up, I heard Four-Arm shout a command. “Lord Garmadon says to take the girl!” He says. I watch as a skeletal hand on a string grabs Nya and the skeletons leave.

“Nya!” I called out. I started jogging to where the large skeleton motorcycle was. “They took Nya.” I mumbled. “I told you, useless.” The old man said tapping my helmet with his staff. I gave a frustrated sound. “You could’ve done something. You could’ve used your twist-itzu or-” he cuts me off. “Spinjitzu.” He says.
