“Have you lost your mind?” Words that repeated in his head as he stared down at what used to be his friends. As much as it would’ve hurt him, he felt nothing. With everything going on, it was always him. Whether it was the blame or a chore that the others didn’t want to do, it was always dumped onto him. It was hard at first to hate them but as time went on, more and more things happened and it piled up until one day it all fell.
He finally snapped.
Finally broken, he left in the dark of night as he left to collect himself. Teaching himself moves that the others wouldn’t know. Letting the dark part of himself out after all those years. Whenever he went into town for stuff like food and all, he’d see missing posters with his face on them. His hood hid his face and he remained silent to avoid vocal recognition.
One day, he’d get back at the ninja. One day, he’d release a storm of anger and pain on them. Show them that he is fed up with the treatment he has been receiving all these years. There was nothing left of the former Green Ninja. All good intentions gone. All thoughts of helping others gone. The only thing that remained was the dark heart that had grown with each and every day.
Isolation from society also caused him to grow cold. No care for any other being. Destroying things with his elemental powers as they too turned dark like his newfound personality change. From green to purple, it became clear that there was no going back.

“I’m worried about Lloyd. Its been two months since he disappeared.” Kai says during dinner. “No one has seen him despite the posters. Perhaps he was kidnapped or captured and is suffering because we haven’t looked hard enough.” Zane says.
“But we’ve looked everywhere! He is nowhere to be found. Its like he doesn’t exist anymore.” Jay says. “There’s still a chance that he could still appear out of nowhere and be perfectly fine. We just have to hope he’s alright.” Nya says.
“Tell that to Wu and Misako. They’ve been hit hard with this. Its not like back when he was that troublesome kid that tried to follow his dad’s footsteps to being evil. He’s grown up and something had to of happened between the day he disappeared and before then to now.” Cole points out.
“If he didn’t get taken, maybe he felt like he needed some space from us.” Jay suggests. “It appears that isn’t likely. Reports are coming in from Ninjago City about the unidentified criminal that has been destroying Ninjago slowly.” Zane says.
“Every time we tried to follow that guy, he always seems to disappear. I’m getting frustrated with this guy.” Kai says. “If we can predict where he’ll be next, then maybe we can finally uncover the identity of this person.” Zane says.
“Lets head to the last place this guy was seen and trace back the previous places. There’s probably a pattern Zane can detect once we go over it.” Cole says. Everyone nods in agreement and head out. Each one took the chance to look around the area before meeting back up.
“Anything?” Kai asked. “Nothing. It appears even traces and trails are covered as well. But I picked up footprints from my infrared vision.” Zane says. “That’s our nindroid! Let’s go!” Jay says. Following Zane, they find themselves in a familiar setting. “It appears we have entered the Wildwood Forest.” Zane states.
“Wasn’t this where we found Lloyd and the Hypnobrai before they burned the monastery down the first time around?” Jay asked. “Correct. And it seems the foliage has grown since our last visit.” Zane says. “And the debris from Lloyd’s treehouse is gone too. Who has time to look for it and clean it up?” Cole asked. Kai looks around and heard leaves rustling until Kai started to push his friends back. “Move!” he says.
A few minutes of where they once stood, a blade hit the ground. A figure in the shadows lurked and Kai glared at it. “Who are you!?” Kai asked. The figure gives a low chuckle before stepping closer to the five ninja. The ninja readies themselves for a fight but the figure came into the light to reveal…
“Lloyd??” the ninja asked at the same time. “Why would you attack us? We’ve been worried sick.” Nya says. “That was a warning. I knew you’d find me eventually. But I should’ve thought about how Zane could see things not visible to the naked eye. In this case, infrared or heat seeking.” Lloyd says twirling his sword on its tip.
“We weren’t looking for you though. We were trying to find the person who’s been destroying Ninjago City.” Jay says. Lloyd smirks and Kai started to glare. “You’re the one doing it, aren’t you?” Kai asks. “Lloyd would never do that. If anything, he might know where the culprit is.” Cole says.
“‘Lloyd would never do that.’ Still high in the hopes. Guess I’m guilty.” Lloyd says smiling while he shrugs. The ninja gasped but Kai was ready to charge in. “How could you!? Have you lost your mind!? All the people you protected time and time again and this is what you do!? There are people who look up to you.” Kai yells. Tears are streaming from his face but Lloyd doesn’t take notice.
“So what? Its not like one less ninja is going to hurt your reputation. For all they care, I’m just another person in Ninjago. But you’d only care because I was the one they talked about more. Because I was the ‘Green Ninja' that was supposed to protect Ninjago. I never wanted to become a ninja and I never asked for you all to be my friends. Its been too quiet and I aim to change that. Starting with destruction.” Lloyd says.
He lifts his sword and points it at the ninja. It begins to glow green then fades into a deep purple. “There’s a lot you don’t know about me. And now it will be you’re last!” Lloyd says attacking. The ninja disperse as they were now on full alert for they’re new enemy.
Because they were in a forest, Kai and Jay couldn’t afford to use their elemental powers while in a forest. Meaning three could use theirs while the other two were stuck with using weapons. “Stay close together.” Cole says. Now back to back, the ninja keep moving and watching for the moving green target.
“I do not detect Lloyd or any movements nearby.” Zane states. “How!? Its already bad enough that he left us. Now he’s trying to kill us! He trained with us so he’ll try sneak attacks.” Jay says. “Or, because he’s been here since he left us, he could’ve left traps lying around. He probably knows this forest like the back of his hand.” Cole says. Kai groans in frustration.
“I want to know why that brat left! If he didn’t want to be with us, he should’ve left ages ago.” Kai started. “Kai we don-” Nya started but the fire ninja cut his sister off. “No. He has all the time in the world to leave but it took until now for him to do so. Why should I care about what happens to that- that Traitor?” Kai spat.
“But you do care about him. You treated Lloyd like a little brother. He is family whether by blood or not. I even recall that you were glad he was okay after saving him from Morro.” Zane says. Kai looks down in shame and pulled his ninja hood on to hide his face from the others. “Kai?” Nya asked slowly. The fire master glances up to the sky as it filled with night time stars. ‘Why did you have to leave?’ Kai thought.
