Rapunzel
I shot up, breathing hard. I was trembling and scared. I looked around for a moment, wondering where I was. My eyes fell on Jack, who was stirring.
"Punzie?" he mumbled, eyes opening. "What's wrong?"
"Nightmare, nothing more. Go back to sleep."
Jack sat up. His PJs consisted of sweatpants. It always made my stomach flutter, seeing him shirtless.
He drew me close, wrapping his arms around me. To Merida, his skin was ice cold, but to me, it felt normal. Jack, likewise, thought Merida's skin was hot. I thought her skin was normal as well.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked.
"I was in the tower again. The walls were moving in on me. I felt trapped." I realized then that I was crying.
Jack held me a little tighter, gently brushing away my tears. I felt safe, secure.
We both laid back down, arms around each other. He drifted off right away, snoring softly. I looked up at the sun and snowflake I had painted above our bed. I imagined the two dancing in the wind, and before I knew it, I was asleep.
