Chapter 11

Rapunzel

We stood up, brushing the snow off. Merida and Jack flew down to us, landing lightly in the snow.

"Well, that went well," Kristoff said.

"Oh, what am I going to do!" Anna exclaimed. "She kicked me out! I can't go back!"

"I would worry about your hair!" I said.

"Why?"

"It's turning white!"

Anna picked up her braid and stared at her now white hair.

"Ahh!" Merida shrieked. "You're turning into Jack!" She hid behind Hiccup, who was laughing.

"Does it look bad?" Anna asked, looking at Kristoff. He paused before saying, "No."

"You hesitated," Olaf said.

"No, no I didn't!"

"Guys! We need to figure out what to do next," I said.

"What happened?" Jack asked.

"Well, I talked to Elsa and we argued and it started snowing. It started swirling around her and then she accidentally hit me with her ice power."

"She hit you?" Hiccup asked. "Where?"

"Here." Anna pointed to her chest, right by her heart.

"You need to see my friends," Kristoff said suddenly.

"The love experts?" I asked.

"Yeah. They can help."

"How do you know?" Merida asked.

"Because I've seen them do it before."

We walked for a ways. Anna seemed to be getting colder. Merida made some fire and lit a big stick she found. Anna held it close to her.

Jack kept glancing at me with a worried expression. I rolled my eyes.

"Stop acting like that," I said, giving him a light shove.

"Stop acting like what?" he asked.

"Like I'm going to spontaneously combust."

"I'm not looking at you like that!"

"Yes you are. Stop worrying."

"Well guys," Kristoff said, "here is my family!" He gestured to rocks sitting all around.

"They're...rocks," Anna said.

"He's crazy," Jack whispered.

"I'll distract him while you run," Olaf whispered. Then he said loudly, "Hi Sven's family! It's nice to meet you." He turned back and whispered, "I insist you run." Olaf glanced at Kristoff and said loudly, "I hear you are love experts?" He whispered, "Why aren't you running?!"

"Right, so, I'm just gonna go," Anna said.

"Wait!" Kristoff said. At that moment, all the rocks started rolling towards him. They seemed to pop open, and suddenly, they all had arms and legs!

"Kristoff's home!" one shouted. They all started cheering.

"What are they?" Hiccup asked.

"They're, they're trolls!" Anna exclaimed.

All the trolls turned to look at us. They blinked twice. "He's brought a girl and friends!"

We were all lifted up and carried to where Kristoff was standing.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Beats me," Jack replied.

"Do you know where Grandpapi is?" Kristoff asked. "We need to speak with him right away."

"He's resting," one troll said. She seemed to be like his mom. "Let me see her!" She pulled Anna down to her. "Good eyes, nice face, strong teeth! She'll be perfect for our Kristoff!"

The trolls started digging and building. The pulled us in opposite direction, decorating us with grass capes and leaf hats. Jack and I were shoved in one pit, Merida and Hiccup in the far one, Anna and Kristoff in the middle one.

"Do you, Anna, take Kristoff to be your trollfully wedded husband?" asked a troll, reading from a book.

"Wait, what?" Anna asked.

"You're getting married."

Anna suddenly collapsed into Kristoff's arms, hair turning even more white. I scrambled out of the pit, making my hair longer. I was about to start singing when a new troll rolled up. He was older than the others and beckoned Anna closer.

"You have ice in your heart," he said.

"You can fix it, right?" Kristoff asked.

"If it were the head, then yes, but the heart, well, only an act of true love can save her."

Grandpapi then noticed me crouched next to them. He grabbed my hand and looked down, as if concentrating.

"A child of the sun, immortal, guardian of spring." He looked confused for a moment. He turned and beckoned Merida closer. "A child of fire, immortal, guardian of summer. You both have it."

"Have what?" Merida asked. I saw Hiccup grab her hand and felt Jack put his hand on my shoulder.

Grandpapi smiled. "You both have a child stirring within you."
