Chapter 9
The entire concert was magically beautiful, like a scene from a movie. The concert was sold out and was packed with people of all ages. The age gap between the people in the audience didn't matter to anyone. The older crowd goers were just as happy as the younger ones, both mixing in the middle in front of the stage. With the concert being outside, there were people lounging on blankets up on the hill and people sitting in lawn chairs they brought from home. It looked like a picture of Woodstock that you see in history books. With people smiling and laughing, not having a care in the world.
I let Lucas lead the way as I held tightly to the back of his shirt, where he lead us to the front of the stage. The outside flood lights went dark and a hush came over the crowd. After a few seconds of darkness, a loud strum from the guitar brought loud cheers from the crowd. The stage lights flashed on and Fleetwood Mac took the stage. Excitement overcame all of my rational thoughts and I scream and cheered loudly along with the crowd.
They opened the concert with Dreams, one of my favorites, and apparently a crowd favorite too, because without noticing, the crowd all started to sway along to the music. Lucas and I swayed along with everyone else, totally and completely captivated by the music. During the middle of the concert, I felt him put both hands on my waist and grip me tightly as he pulled me up against him. I gave in and let him pull me tight against him, with my back against his torso I could feel his hard muscles strain as he bent down to kiss my cheek from behind. I could feel his heartbeat against his chest.
I made him feel this way, I was the reason his heart was racing, and I liked it. I had a strong sense of pride coursing through my veins, I loved that he wanted me. It made me feel powerful and like a seductress. The beginning of my favorite song started to play, Stevie Nicks started to sing Riannon and at that moment I wasn't at the concert. I was in my own little world with just Lucas and me, Stevie's voice entrapped me, and made me feel even more empowered. Lucas's grip on me got tighter, I spun around to where I was now chest to chest with him, he snaked an arm around my waist and pulled me so tight against him that it almost hurt. Looking up at him I wrap my arms around his neck, causing him to bend down to me, where I whispered a sweet thank you in his ear.
I moved my lips from his ear, slowly down his neck, making a path of kisses down to his collarbone. I could hear him make a deep sound almost like a growl of enjoyment. I pull away and look up into his eyes, where they were such a dark grey they almost looked black. This time he leans down and kissed me right on the lips, with such a hunger that it thrilled me to my core. While he kissed me, his hands made their way to my backside, where I grabbed them and pulled them back up. I lightened the kiss before ending it and turning back towards the stage.
I wasn't ready for anything more than kissing at this point in our very new relationship. I have to remind myself to keep it slow and rein myself in, I can't let him push too far. I needed to cool him down before we headed to the hotel, I don't think getting him riled up before heading to the hotel is a good idea. Before heading off to college my dad had a long discussion with me about being safe with boys, he showed me all sorts of statistics of college rape among girls. I have to say the odds are not in college women's favor, I knew I needed to be extra careful. I didn't think Lucas would do anything like that to me, he said he loved me, but you can never be too sure of someone.
The song ends and the band waves goodbye as the exit the stage. The giant floodlights came back on to guide the crowd towards the one exit. Lucas and I follow the wave of the crowd as we head to the doors. We walked hand in hand until a sudden surge of people separate us and I lost sight of Lucas in the crowd. Looking around in a panic I suddenly find myself face down on the dirty concrete. Before I have time to react a pair of big strong hands lifts me up off the ground. "Hey sorry to have grabbed you like that, but you were about to get trampled on" I turn around and see who the hands belong to.
