Derek's POV:

"You do look hot Ashley." I complimented her.
She has grown so much more confident than she was when we first met. She was doing great at fashion blogging and managed everything with ease.

Charlotte and Ashley made their way towards the dance floor whereas the guys just planned to drink for now and then join them later.
"Anything going on between you and Ashley?" Rohit wiggled his eyebrows at me.

"What? No! She's my bestfriend." I stated.

"You think I can try on her?" Ashton asked looking in her direction.

The way her hips swayed and hair flipped, she was dancing so sensuously that I couldn't help but stare at her.

Jacob snapped his fingers in front of my eyes to get me out of the dreamy state I was in.

"I have any chances?" Ashton asked again.

"I doubt. I mean she likes that Nathan guy." I shrugged.

"Yeah. He comes to the cafe twice a week or so to spend some time with her." Rohit said.

"You like her, don't you?" Jacob whispered so that only I could hear him.

"No, Jake."

"I saw the way you were looking at her." He smiled knowingly.

"No Jacob. She's my bestfriend." I groaned.

She's too pretty and caring and I love her but not in the romantic way. Like, how can you tell if its that love or just friendship? I haven't been in love before but I was positive I don't feel like that for Ashley. Besides, she considers me as her bestfriend which clearly states that I'm in the friend zone category.

Charlotte and Ashley had managed to get the attention of quite a lot of guys and I did not like the way they were looking at them. Jacob must've noticed that too as he pointed towards the dance floor getting up.

Jacob found a hot blonde girl to hook up with and excused himself. There was a girl looking at me constantly, dressed in a hot pink dress and she did have blonde hair. I gave her a small smile like I would normally do. Eye contact at first and then smile at them to be sure that she won't turn me down. She smiled back flirtily.
There! I got one too but I just didn't feel like hooking up tonight. I don't want all the meaningless fun anymore. I want to find someone for a stable relationship.

Within an hour of dancing, Charlotte went to check up on Elena and Ashley excused herself since she was tired from dancing in those killer heels.

I was about to go with her when that blonde girl came in front of me reeking of floral perfume. How I prefer musky scents over this scent. I loved Ashley's choice of perfume. It was either lavender or musky. Most of the times, she would wear a musky scent.
Why am I thinking of her?

"I'm Cara." She batted her eye lashes at me.

"Derek."

"Haven't seen you in this club before." Her fingers brushed my arm making me wince.

"Coming here for the first time." I replied not looking at her. I scanned the place for Jacob or Ashley to help me out of this. Thats when my eyes fell upon Ashley sitting at the bar and some guy approached her. She probably denied him at first but then agreed to dance with him anyways.

"So you think we should get out of here and have some fun?" She suggested. I exactly knew what kind of fun she meant and frankly I wasn't up for it tonight. She was certainly the usual type of girl I prefer. Blonde (obviously), tall and hot still my hormones seemed to be in complete place as I wasn't in the slightest bit turned on by her offer.
