35: Drama?

"And then we never spoke again.."

For most, Christmas is a celebration, a festival that brings family together and binds them up with love and affection. A reason to buy presents for each other, decorate the house inside and out and to enjoy it as a family.
This year, it is more than a festival for me. Its like a new beginning with everyone around me greeting each other happily and exchanging presents.

Surprisingly, Harry's in a very good mood today and helping prepare lunch for everyone singing Christmas songs. Sometimes, a little conversation helps.
Derek was in the kitchen too.

"Someone's in an awfully good mood today." I commented walking into the kitchen.

"I guess I have you to thank for that." He winked causing Derek to choke on the water he was drinking.

"All okay brother?" Harry asked him.

"Yes." He said with a curt nod.

"I thought you were supposed to make pancakes." Derek pouted as he whispered so that Harry couldn't hear us.

"Tomorrow." I giggled at his childish behaviour.

"Merryyyyy Christmas." Theo squealed rushing towards me.

"Merry Christmas Theo." I greeted back with the same enthusiasm and hugged the little kid who in return gave me two kisses, one on each cheek.

"You're too cute." I chuckled giving him a kiss.

"Am I going to receive the same greeting?" Derek smirked.

"I'm special." Theo winked at Derek and ran off.

"Merry Christmas Ashley." He hugged.

"Merry Christmas."

"No kiss?" He pouted.

"You're not a kid Der." I rolled my eyes at him.

"So?" He placed his hands on my waist pulling me closer, accelerating the rate at which my heart was pumping.

"Don't act silly. Everyone's here." I whisper glancing if anyone else was looking at us. Luckily, no one saw as since they were busy having lunch.

"What? I just wanna borrow a kiss. I promise I'll give it back." He flirted.

"You're crazy." I laughed. 

"Only for you." He smiles tucking a stray of hair behind my ear.

"Ahh screw you." I said giving him a peck on his cheek.

"Love you too Ash." He grins happily giving me a quick peck.

"Ahem. Look at you two love birds." Harry coughs from behind.

I turned around instantly feeling embarrassed of being caught like this with his brother.

"Oh shut up." Derek groans and leaves to join the rest for breakfast.

"Phew. The sexual tension between you guys is killing me." Harry exaggerates pretending to wipe the sweat off his forehead in a dramatic manner.

"You're delusional."

"Oh really?"

"Yes."
