" Let's binge watch tv shows together for the rest of our lives?"

The night sky was now transferring its shade from dark blue to almost black, the reflection of the moon glistening at the water.
The peaceful sound of crashing waves against hard rocks, feeling of the moist sand beneath my feet and silhouette of palm tress was everything my senses were absorbing trying to ease my racing heart.

Tonight was the night.

Still unable to believe it was all true, I re-read the note in my hand, for the sixth time.

'Tonight is the night'
-D.

I clutch the paper close to my heart and sigh, happily.

"How did I get so lucky?" I whisper looking up at the sky.

How ?

I would have never expected life to have this in store for me and now that it does, I'm figuring if I'm even worthy of it ?
Am I ?

"This is for you." A child walks up to me bringing a bouquet of bright red roses.

"Thank you." I call out as he immediately ran off in the opposite direction.

The fresh smell of flowers could not overpower the faint smell of green apples from it.

I knew that scent.

I knew to whom that scent belonged.

There was another note inside.
Fifth one I received today.

'Keep walking towards me babe.'

I couldn't help but smile at his cheekiness.

He certainly did go a little extra.
Not that I'm complaining.
I happen to love his cheesy and romantic side.

Still unable to wipe that smile off my face, I walk straight ahead passing through a few people on the private beach.
Roses in one hand and heels in the other.

It was New Year's today.

This evening, there was a small chit next to a neatly folded dress by the side of my bed.

'You look sexy in red.'
- D

It was a floor length 'sin me red' red bodycon dress with a slit at the side.
It was gorgeous and the best dress I had ever seen.
I quickly rushed downstairs to find Derek but he was no where to be found.

In fact, the entire house was empty.

Weird.
Just an hour back all of us were playing board games when I rushed up for a shower as we were going out for dinner.

I reached for my phone to call Derek when there was a knock on the main door.
Then one more.

Cautiously, I opened the door to find a small packet laying on the porch. As expected, there was no one in sight.

I unwrapped the parcel urgently, not wanting to wait anymore. I was getting anxious with every passing minute, my brain releasing images and thoughts too soon for them to be true.
