Shiro asked them to sit while he and Allura stood before them. "This world has been attacked by Mutants every since our glorious King Alfor died at his brother's hands. Then his brother took over. This was years ago. We killed Zarkon and his son took over the throne, continuing his father's ideal more twistingly. Now he sends his knights to kill anyone who defies him. One of them has a way with animals and creates all the hybrids that do the dirty work for her. Everyone knows of our 'betrayal' to the king. Though, the citizens support us secretively," Shiro explained.

Katie nodded taking in all this information. "So what you are asking is that we follow you into the heat of battle just because you believe we're destined to help you?" the latino, Lance, asked and received a nod from Allura. "Well I'm not in!" Katie gave him a look one would give a adult who was being a child.

"Well, I am in, but I'll need more information then that. What exactly are we doing?" she questioned, leaning back in the bench. Keith placed his elbow on the arm of the bench and waited for the answer.

"We will be attacking to destroy them and free this world, of course," Shiro said, worry visible on his face. If he couldn't get them to join, this world be in deep trouble and she knew it. She stood and walked up to him and held out her hand for a shake. She smiled.

"I'm in. Saving a world and getting my name known in another realm by using the powers I've been criticized for," she cheerfully said, shaking his hand. Shiro nodded and turned to the rest.

"And you three?" he asked and the three looked at each other. Keith nodded and slumped in his seat, the weight of the decision on his shoulders lifted. Hunk and Lance took a while before smiling and nodding too. With that they formed team Voltron: Defenders of this world. Allura stood.

"Alright let's get this show on the road, shall we? Our first order of business if finding a new area to hide out. Judging by the Y-Fox, we've been found. Let's get a move on now!" she called as she walked to the door, arms waving around to tell them to come on. They obeyed and set out to find somewhere usable.

Katie frowned at the stench. "This is our new hideout?" she said, putting fallen clothes back on the racks. "A run-down clothing store?" A roach scurried past her feet and she stomped on it. "Its has a roach nest somewhere too." Hunk squealed and Lance squeaked.

"You expect me to sleep with roaches? I signed up for being a hero, not a hobo!" Lance whined, scanning the floor with careful eyes. He saw a rat peak out from behind a fabric mannequin. He jumped onto the nearest person which happened to be Keith, then coughed awkwardly when he realized.

Hunk nodded. "I'm extremely afraid of roaches and bugs. Can we just pick somewhere else?" he squeaked, withdrawing into himself as he tried to disappear. Katie laughed at the view.

"Wow, I might actual enjoy saving the world with a bunch of bozos, but not you Keith," she said and toppled over in laughter. "There just little rodents and pests with four legs! We'll be facing  giant foxes and who knows what else!" Katie stood once she was done and wiped the tears from her eyes. "Well let's get settled, but not too settled. Never know when we'll have to move again."

"You sure know a lot," Allura said, slipping an arm around Katie's shoulders. She gave the white-haired girl a smile and nodded.

"You need to know these things when you have an older brother and Keith as a friend. That and when you're stuck in a institution that's illegal because it counts as child abuse, even if its for Specials," Katie said, rubbing her arm as she thought of her time at the institution. Allura was only half a head taller then her, but Katie still felt small under the older girl's gaze. Katie retreated, removing Allura's arm and smiled. "Well, what now? We found our new base..."

"Katie...," Allura said with a look of pity. The same look people gave Pidge when she walked past them. The look Katie hated. She turned away from Allura and sat on one of the central tables with pants laid out. Strange that the owners left the clothes still in the store. They where in good condition if you didn't include the spiderwebs attached.

"I don't need your pity," Katie spat, looking at the ground. "Keep those eyes to yourself or you'll find yourself without them!" Allura gulped, frightened before she regained her ground. Katie continued talking to stop whatever the woman was going to say next. "This new king guy, how do we stop him?"

Allura stopped her fuming and nodded. "Well we have thought that out for a while now, but we find ourselves baffled. Every plan we conjure up, we find a flaw or he does. We need your mind Katie," she explained, a little bitter to admit needing help from the teen. Katie began to think, though she'd need more information.

"Tell me more about the situation and I'll find the king's weak point," Katie said. Allura nodded and leaned over the counter.

"Alfor is our father. Zarkon always hated him, despising him because he believed he belonged on the throne and not his brother. One day the thirst for power took control and he murdered my father and took over the throne. Then he enslaved me and Shiro. With his new founded power he took control of Altea with us as his evildoers. We tried our best to help the citizens, but he had full control over us. We were gracious enough that the people knew of our situation. We had to remain alive to take the throne after Zarkon's defeat," she said taking a pause to have a deep breath, pain in her face. She picked up a charcoal that had been laying on the surface.

"When we finally killed our uncle, his son surprised us by cursing us and taking the throne for himself. Then he appointed his generals and called us traitors with no right to the throne. We were thrown out with 'mercy' from the king. We were free and decided to use our curses to save Altea," Allura finished, snapping the charcoal under her fingers. The glint in her eyes scared everyone.

Though, fear resided in her face, her heart dropped. Cursed. That must mean the powers they have. Which also meant they weren't the last two Specials. Katie felt some disappointment rise, but decided to push forward. She'd already pledged to give them her aid, and it is not like she could go home anyway. "I may have an idea," she said, gaining everyone's attention.

Well I will tell you this. From now on, starting next Sunday, I will have three Shidge/Klance books out. I have had a brilliant idea and I'm too afraid to shove it back while I write these two. So I will be overworking myself, but I can do it. No need to worry!
