Katie turned to look at Shiro as he took a deep breath followed by a sigh. "I know you were using your abilities to listen in to our conversation," he said, not even bothering to look at her. Katie's eyes went wide. How had he figured out?

"You do?" she asked quietly. She watched as he nodded slowly. Katie didn't want to know what he was thinking, but sometimes she did wonder what else happened in his past and was going through his brain. He was just so mysterious.

"Since you heard, I don't have to tell you. What are you going to do about this supposed fate of yours?" he questioned, still not looking at her. Her mind was a storm and she wanted to leave. It was like she had been caught peeping. Though, she would never.

"I won't let Lotor send me back. Not without my family. I may have Matt back but my father is still out there. I will not rest till he's safe again," was all she was able to say for the next few minutes. Shiro gave a hum in response and nothing afterward.

They just sat in glorious silence for a while. Katie felt the need to do something, but she didn't know what. Get closer to him? Leave? Say something? She did know one thing and it was that she'd been staring at him the whole time. She felt like removing her eyes, but actually doing it seemed impossible.

"I want to do something, but I don't know what. Ever get that feeling?" he said, breaking the salvation of silence. Katie swallowed.

"Actually, yeah. Right now I have that feeling. Same for you?" she said, rubbing her arm. She watched his eyes flick towards her for a moment before returning to staring at a painting across from them.

"Yeah," he croaked. "I wonder what it is though. The feeling, I mean." Katie finally was able to direct her eyes elsewhere for a moment. Her eyes did fine their way back to him, though.

"I would like to know also, but it will not be something under our noses," she replied, her fingers vibrated and tingled as they went to sleep. She had them clamped together, squished between her pressed knees. Katie pulled her hands out and shook them to wake them.

She stood and began walking. "I am going to go to-" she was cut off by Shiro grabbing her arm.

"I also know that you stopped listening at the part that's most important," he said and she sat back down. This time right next to him. His eyes were on her unlike before. Seriousness erupted from the black pools. "Hunk... told me of a fate that neither of us can escape like you can't escape being sent back."

Katie was a little afraid to ask what that thing was. She simply stared into his eyes with an equally serious expression.

"There's a path we'll both take to happiness... with each other," was all he said as he stood to leave. This time it was Katie who grabbed him to stop him from escaping.

"What do you mean? Do mean that our destinies are intertwined? By that are you saying we are destined to fall in-" she stopped herself from finishing the sentence. Some people would've said it was her virginity that kept her blushing at thoughts such as love. She thought otherwise. It was simply that she wasn't a heartbreaker.

He didn't turn to give her a look. "Try to find a way to stop you from leaving this world. I don't want to be alone...," was all he offered before pulling his arm loose and leaving. Katie was left alone in the living room with thoughts swirling in her mind and a red face.

She fell back onto the couch and pulled her knees up to her head. She buried her face in them as she groaned. She hated riddles. She may be a tech wizard but that didn't mean she enjoyed tough problems that were all flashy to hide the answer.

The door came crashing down with a thud. Allura stood on the other side, breath heavy like she had been running. "You guys need to see this!" she called as Matt ran past her to gather the others. It looked like Katie wouldn't have the time to think about what just happened.

"Allura? Matt? What did you find?" Katie called as she flew off the couch and to her feet.

"You'll see!" she said as she went up the stairs.

"Shay's in the kitchen!" Katie called, following Allrua up.

"I'm not looking for Shay," Allura answered as she turned to the room she stayed in. She began to rummage through everything inside. "I'm looking for something else. Found it!"

She pulled out a necklace with a blue gem on the end. The stone was wrapped in wires to hold it on. Allura rushed out of the room and back down the creaky stairs, Katie at her heels. "Why do you need that? What's happening?" Katie

Allura and Katie met Matt and the others at the door. "We found something that we all need to explore," Matt said and motioned for them to follow. Katie willingly did go after them, but what they were brought to made her kinda wish she hadn't.

"What in the world!?" Shay squeaked at the sight. "Why is there a baby lion in this house! More importantly, Allura why did your necklace open the door to it!?"

Indeed. Allura had used that gem to open a sealed door that lead to a small blue cub. That cub was playing at Lance's feet. She watched the teen pick it up and smile at it. "You have a nice coat and pretty eyes! Why would anyone want to lock you up!?" he said in a baby voice like it was a kid.

"Maybe because she's a lion," Katie retorted with a snort. Lance stuck his tongue out at her and she did the same. "But it is weird that she'd be locked up in a abandoned house."

"Are you assuming its gender!?" Lance called as he checked to see what the cub was. "Well... wow. It actually is a girl." Katie smiled. She knew it.

Sorry for it being late... :/ I'm a terrible author.
