Lotor smiled. "Ah, I see... Katie has taken your interest too," he said, peering at the two. "Well I'll send you both then!" With that a light appeared at their feet and the last thing she saw was Lotor smiling wickedly at them.

The world had gone dark. It felt as if there was no physical form around; like they were falling through a void. She clutched to Shiro's tunic as tears formed. "What are you doing!? I clearly didn't want you to follow!" she shouted as they fell through the void. It was like falling down a rabbit hole, an extremely long one.

"I couldn't help but come rescue you. After all, what's a princess without her knight in shining armor?" Shiro explained, giving her his heart-winning smile. Katie felt like strangling him and kissing him at the same time. Strange thoughts for their predicament.

"Well this princess didn't need a knight!" she retorted. Shiro only wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly against him. She couldn't tell what was going on anymore. She was drunk on his warmth and the pleasing feeling of having him this close.

"Well, this knight needs his princess," he whispered. Katie pulled away enough to look at him in the face. She gasped. They'd arrived somewhere.

She flew up and looked around. People in hazard suits stared at them with surprise written all over their stances. A woman with short brown hair stepped in the room with a look of fury. "What is it now? I swear if it's another rat I'll-," the woman sneered before spotting the two.

She froze at the sight and Katie's breath hitched. Who knew they'd meet so soon? It was awkward with Shiro sitting on the ground behind her, looking between her and the woman with interest. The woman, who Katie wcould recognize anywhere, flew to her and gave her a hug.

"It's been days since you disappeared! I was so worried! I thought someone had smuggled you away or murdered you or worse! I couldn't stand the thought of my little girl being at the hands of someone cruel," Katie's mother said, holding Katie close.

The small girl wrapped her arms around her mother and buried her head into the familiar scent. "It's okay mom. I've been fine. I had Keith and others who took care of me. You won't believe what I found out," she whispered. Mrs. Holt stepped back, the tears in her eyes no longer restrained. Then she spotted Shiro on the floor.

"Who's this!? Your kidnapper!?" she questioned in a calm voice. At that, Katie couldn't help but bust out laughing. Her mother thinks Shiro is her daughter's kidnapper.

Wait... it's technically true.

Keith stared at the empty area. They were gone. His best friend and the person who started to feel like a big brother to him. Gone. Lance held him tighter in his arms at the scene. Lotor turned to them in confusion.

"My general, who's this? A brother? Cousin? Or perhaps a... lover? Strange taste, but I don't judge. I'd totally lock him up for my own enjoyment. Look at that glorious face!" Lotor asked, staring at Lance with something Keith didn't like. The king gave a hearty laugh. "Don't glare at me. I was joking... almost. I won't steal what belongs to others."

Lance let go and dragged Keith over to a corner by the elbow to talk to him. "What the Voltron were you thinking!? Coming here to send Katie to her inevitable doom?" Lance harshly whispered. Keith had never seen him so worried.

This was also the first time in a while Lance didn't have Sapphire practically living at his legs. "I didn't know she planned this. She told me things wouldn't be so drastic. For a moment I even thought she and Lotor were hitting it off!" Keith explained, looking at the ground.

"Hey! It's not your fault. If she lied to you, she must've had a pretty good reason. Katie wouldn't do something like this without one," Lance reassured, looking at Keith's depressed expression. "Now, let's save her and Shiro, but first, let's dupe this guy."

Lance dragged Keith back over to Lotor and gave a stoic look as he greeted the king. "I'm Lance McClain, Keith's beloved. Nice to meet you," Lance said, not paying attention to Keith's mental freakout at those words. "Touch him, hurt him, or even look at him with ill intentions and I'll snap you into two. Twack!" Lance motioned him breaking a twig in half.

Lotor gave a smile. "Ah, protective and feisty, I see. Keith, you struck home with this one. Even I'd go homosexual for a hunk like him," the king approved, giving a thumbs up. Keith didn't know if that was a compliment or a threat.

"I-I guess I did," Keith mumbled, staring at the ground. His face felt like it was on fire. Why did Lance have to put it like that!?

"Here's the real question: Why'd you arrive with that rat?" Lotor asked Lance, talking about Shiro. Lance looked slightly surprised.

"Is there a reason why I shouldn't have? I came to smack Keith upside the head for his idiotic decision to become a palace guard when I ran into that gentleman downstairs. He helped me get here," Lance lied with an easy smile. He could fool anyone if he kept that up.

Knowing Lance, it'd take at least a day for him to drop it and get discovered. "Oh, for a moment I thought you all were associated. Shows that I shouldn't jump to conclusions without the evidence first," Lotor replied and turned to where Katie and Shiro disappeared. "Such a shame. I was contemplating whether I should keep her as a suitor or not. The ones I'm usually presented with are gold diggers or whores."

"You were what!?" Keith shouted, forgetting the previous discussion. Lotor looked at him with curiosity. Keith tried to quickly recover. "That girl is a criminal against the capital and all Altea! She would be a disgrace to crown queen or even waste your time with! Plus, it looks like she wouldn't even cooperate. That guy seemed to be very possessive of her. There's obviously something between the two."

Lotor nodded with a smile Keith didn't favor. "A maiden's heart can be won more then once," was all the king said before walking towards the door. "I'll give her a day and see if I can summon her back. That's if it worked and she isn't mangled." With that the door opened and he left.

What the heck did I do!? Why did I do this!? WTF IS WRONG WITH ME!? I won't say I regret writing it down tho... Gwahahha Things are getting interesting.
