“You know what, I can be a donor too.” I say to Wilmer as he closes the door behind himself. We walk down the hallway and outside, to take some fresh air into our lungs. Elisabeth’s sleeping, so we enjoying our time alone.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea.” Wilmer states as we finally reach the bench. We sit down and he continues, “You need to have every organ if you want to carry a baby.” He says, making me turn to him. Is he serious right now?

“D-Do you…” I can’t finish my sentence. I have too many thoughts in my head right now. I take a few deep breaths and look at Wilmer again, “Do you want to have a baby with me?” I ask and move closer to him, so he wraps his hands around my shoulder.

“We’re getting old…” He says, making me laugh.  I can’t believe we are talking about getting old. We still have the whole life in front of our eyes, it’s too early to talk about things like that, but I don’t oppose to him, I let him talk. “You know, I think I want a baby with you. A cute baby with your eyes and chin would be awesome.” I can’t help but grin at the thought.

“Let’s start right now.” I stand up and grab his hand. He gives me a look at laughs.

“You’re still a kid.” He stands up and wraps his hands tightly around me. I giggle as he kisses me. Somehow I feel like teenager again. I feel young and happy. I feel whole. Wilmer pulls away and looks into my eyes. “What do you mean ‘let’s start right now’? Do you wanna make love in the hospital yard?” He asks as I roll my eyes at him.

“Let’s go to the bathroom, come on Wilmer.” I grab him with me. Maybe I’m crazy but it all is his fault. He stops me and turns my body, so I’m facing him. Our lips touch in a soft kiss but it doesn’t last long because Wilmer pulls away. He puts his palm on my chest and strokes it, making me close my eyes at the feeling.

“As much as I would love to take you right here, let’s don’t rush. We will have plenty of time to do that later when we will get home.” He rubs our noses together, making me smile. He smiles too, and leaves a quick peck on my lips. “If you really want this, we can buy an apartment or a house together, so we could live together… I am not sure if we are ready for this step but I hope so.”

“Yes, we are.” I look into his eyes and smile. “We’re ready for everything right now. I promise I will never ever leave you because you are my happiness, you’re my everything, Wilmer. I would go anywhere with you, I would do everything just to have you. I won’t lose my chance to be happy, so we’re moving in together and we’re going to make a baby soon.” I give him a look and turn around before walking back to the hospital.

Wilmer follows me and soon we’re holding hands again. Although his life is probably falling apart right now, he doesn’t show it. He’s very good at acting. We enter Elisabeth’s room and find her awake. She turns to us and smiles. I smile back at her cute face and walk closer to her bed.

“I will stay with you tonight.” I say, walking closer to Elisabeth’s bed. Her smile widens but Wilmer shakes his head. I choose to ignore him and sit down on the bed, still smiling.

“I’m healthy, why can’t I go home?” Elisabeth asks. I shrug and turn to Wilmer. He takes a deep breath and walks closer to us. He sits on the chair beside bed and takes Elisabeth’s hand.

“Baby, you’re not healthy. The doctor will do a surgery for you, but no worries” Wilmer says as the tears fill Elisabeth’s eyes. “If you will cry, you will feel bad. After the surgery you won’t feel anything and then you will be healthy, like before.” I can see how hard it is for Wilmer, but he stays strong and calm. “I will do everything to save you, and we will be happy again, okay? You, me, and Demi. Maybe we will think about sister or brother after everything will be okay with you.” Wilmer smiles and wipes away the tears from her cheeks. I bite my lip to stop a sob from leaving my mouth.

Wilmer words broke my heart. I can’t understand how he manages to stay strong. I am so proud of him, he’s really the strongest person I ever met. He could deal with my shit, then with his own shit and now this. I swear, he’s the best.

I move closer to them and wrap my hands around Elisabeth’s tiny body. Wilmer wraps his hands around my shoulders and pulls me even closer.

After a while of sitting in silence, we slowly pull away. Elisabeth isn’t crying anymore; she’s  asleep. I slowly move away from the bed and Wilmer does the same. We cover her with the sheets and both sit down on the couch, cuddling into each other’s embrace.

Wilmer kisses on top of my head and smiles.

“I was serious about baby.” He whispers. I look at him with a smile on my face.

“I know.” I peck his lips. “And I love you so much.” Somehow Wilmer moves me on his laps and I’m straddling him. I turn back to a sleeping Elisabeth while Wilmer kisses my neck. I don’t feel really comfortable. What if the girl awakes?

“What about…” Wilmer pulls away and stares into my eyes, “What about your engagement?” He finishes his question, making me raise an eyebrow. “Do I need to purpose again?” He explains. My eyes widens as I wrap my hands around his neck tighter, kissing his sweet lips.

“Of course, you have to purpose again. It was ages ago. I don’t even remember.” I joke and giggle quietly. Wilmer nods his head and kisses my lips again.

If I could, I would run around the world and scream to the world how happy I am.

We ARE together.

“Mr. Valderrama?” Doctor asks and Wilmer stands up from Elisabeth’s bed. He walks out of the room with doctor, while Elisabeth and me continue to look for a new apartment on the internet. We decided to buy an apartment because our family is still small, plus we don’t want a huge house.

I don’t know how much time passes but Wilmer doesn’t come back.

“I am going to search for your dad.” I kiss on top of Elisabeth’s head and walk out of the room. I look around the hall but there is no sign of Wilmer. I sigh and walk around until I finally find Wilmer. He’s sitting on the chair, his face in his hands. Oh God, what’s wrong?

I rush to him and kneel in front of him. Wilmer doesn’t move, it seems like he is in the other world. I push his hands away from his face and made him look at me. Tears are in his eyes. I feel how my body goes numb, is everything that bad?

“What’s wrong?” I ask as he closes his eyes. He doesn’t answer, so I ask again. “Wilmer, talk to me.”

“Elisabeth isn’t my daughter.”
