I got ready a few hours ago but I’m still at my home. Wilmer is late more than an hour. Maybe he changed his mind?
“Take deep breaths.” My mom says, getting my attention. “Don’t shout, just deep breaths.” She says, putting her hand on mine. I shake my head as the tears fill my eyes again. Oh my God, he left me again. My body starts shaking as I close my eyes and rock myself back and forth. Another panic attack is coming.
Mom wraps her hands tightly around me and rocks me too. I let a loud sob out as mom holds me as tight as she can. For a moment I think that it’s the end, that this pain in my heart will never stop and it will finally kill me. How could I be so stupid and believe that he could love me again…
Suddenly my phone starts ringing and I jump from the couch and rush to the table, where the phone is. My heart starts beating rampant as I see Wilmer’s ID. I take a deep breath before putting the phone to my ear.
“Wilmer?” I whisper because my voice isn’t strong enough to talk loud.
“Demi, I’m so sorry, baby, I can’t come.” He says, I can understand that his voice is worried but I’m too lost in my angry to care about it.
“Oh, don’t worry, I understand, I was stupid enou-“
“Elisabeth is in hospital, something is wrong with her.” His voice starts shaking even more as my heart stops beating for a second. I shake my head not believing. He takes a deep breath and continues, “I have no idea what’s going on. Demi, something is wrong with my daughter. Oh my God, Demi, what if she dies?”
“No, don’t think like that. Stay strong, okay? I’m on my way.” I say as I grab my purse. Mom gives me a look but I don’t have time to explain everything. He needs my support right now, and I’m going to be there for him.

I don’t know how I get to the hospital because I’m emotional mess right now. I’m really scared of what is happening to Elisabeth because somehow I love her like my own daughter. I just can’t stay indifferent.
I rush into the hall and see Wilmer sitting there. As soon as he sees me, he stands up and walks closer to me, giving me a hug. I can feel the tears dripping on my shoulder and I realize its Wilmer’s tears. I wrap my hands tighter around him.
“It’s going to be okay, trust me. Your girl will be okay.” I try to calm him down although I understand it’s not helping at all. Wilmer hugs me tighter and hides his face into my hair as I stroke his back. I don’t know what to do but I just want to take this pain away from him. He doesn’t deserve it.
We stand like this for a few moments until Wilmer manages pull himself up and pull away from me. I wipe his tears away from his cheeks and leave a quick kiss on his lips. We slowly walk to the chair in the waiting room and sit down. He holds my hand tightly as we are sitting there in silence.
Suddenly we hear someone calling Mr. Valderrama, so we stand up and rush to the nurse. Wilmer squeezes my hand, as she opens her mouth to talk.
