Everything is so unexpected. I am not even sure if I want to marry him. After everything, what we went through, I realized that our relationship isn’t that strong. I mean there is love, much of love, but as soon as we have a problem, love disappears and we run away. What, if marrying him won’t change anything?
“I love you.” Wilmer’s words cuts off my thoughts as he leans over and kisses me again. I kiss him back, although I’m still deep in thoughts. I have to marry him because of Elisabeth. That’s the plan… And if nothing changes as soon as Elisabeth will be officially his, I will leave him. Simple.
But in reality it isn’t that simple. I love him. I really do. Divorce would totally destroy me, plus it would be a proof that Wilmer and I will never be together again…
Wilmer pulls away and gives me a smile. “Let’s go to Vegas, baby.” He jokes and I giggle. Wedding in Vegas sounds good.
“Okay.” I smile.
“You don’t sound happy. Demi, you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to. We can live together and we will try to get Elisabeth back in other ways. It’s okay. We’re not even sure if the marriage would help. Eventually it may appear that it does not change anything” He says but I quickly shake my head.
“No, of course not. I’m not doing it for Elisabeth, I am doing it for us. We love each other, Wilmer.” Liar. Honestly I don’t understand myself. One minute I want to spend the rest of my life with him and other minute I hate him. I want him to leave me alone and never come back. What’s the truth?
“So, are we going to Vegas?” Wilmer places another kiss on my lips and I nod my head, smiling. For the first time, I fake smile in front of him. Everything’s changed. Maybe he’s no longer what I want. Maybe I gave up on us?
“I am going to get my things and I will come here, okay?” He asks and I nod my head. Do I really want to marry him? Why did everything become so difficult? “Can’t wait to call you Mrs. Valderrama” He says before walking out.
As soon as he closes the door behind himself, I rush to the bedroom and start packing. I need to think. I need to calm down. Suddenly I’m feeling like 16 again. I don’t know what I want anymore. But I guess Wilmer is not what I want anymore, is he?
I continue to put clothes into the suitcase but my mind is somewhere else. Maybe I can run again? Of course I can, but do I want to? Do I want to suffer again? No. But do I want to live with him? After everything I am not sure anymore.
I close the suitcase, grab my passport and the purse. I need to run away. Yes, I need to hide. I quickly grab the keys and open the door, ready to run, but Wilmer is standing there. Fuck.
“Oh, you’re so fast.” He says and takes my suitcase from my hand. Fuck, fuck, fuck. I smile at him and nod my head. So, I can’t run. All the options to avoid it disappear. I’m going to marry him.
“Are you ready?” He asks and leans over to peck my lips.
