"Leah?" Cameron's soft spoken voice calls.
"Wake up, Leah."
"If you can hear me, say something."
"I thought with losing my abilities, I would lose the visions. I thought wrong." I mumble under my breath. I begin to sit up, my bones ache and my head pounds immensely. I grip the blankets, bundling the soft fibers in between my fingertips.
"Take it easy Lea, you hit your head pretty hard." Ian warns. He places his warm hand against my back, helping me sit up. My fingers run through my messy hair.
"What did you see?" Brent asks. His arms fold loosely across his chest.
The wounds and thought of death burn in the back of my mind. If I tell them, they'll ask a million questions and protest a million of my ideas on how to avoid it.
"I need to take a walk," I mumble under my breath. Brent stands up, offering his hand. "alone." He shakes his head.
"We are not going to lose you again, you're more vulnerable able now. I will keep my distance, but I am going with you." Brent snaps.
"Why don't we all just go to the cliff and swim, maybe it will take our minds off of things." Ian suggests. Cam hauls off and smacks the back of Ian's head.
"That's a great idea, Ian. Maybe afterwards we will rehash on exactly how many close calls we've had over the years." Cameron snaps.
"Maybe a swim isn't such a bad idea." Brent mumbles.
"I don't know if that's a good idea, in my vision, Garrison gets killed in the woods." I whisper.
"We can be on the lookout for that son of a bitch who goes after him." Ian suggests.
"That son of a bitch is my mother." I clarify, mumbling under my soft spoken breath.
"Our mother." Leanne and Mel reply. I turn to face my sisters, tears rush down my face.
"Mel?" I mumble under my breath. She smiles, then walks towards me. Her arms outstretch into the air awaiting my arrival.
"You're okay," she assures me, her voice muffles into my shoulder.
"If we are going to swim, we need to find bathing suits." Leanne says, cutting off the short lived family reunion.
The three of us lock arms, and run into the spare bedroom to find bathing suits to wear. Luckily, we're the same size bathing suit.
Ian pokes his head into the doorway, as our bare backs were turned to put our tops on. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Brent quickly grab Ian by the ear and drag him away from the door. I laugh at Brent's quick action.
As if on an assembly line, we all begin to walk outside in our swim outfits. The boys all matching in gray swim trunks. Mel, Leanne, and I matching in turquoise bikinis.
The guys smile deviously at Garrison. He glances at me, and swings me bridal style in his arms. Both of his arms wrapped around my body like a cobra, his hands grasping my shoulder and under my knees. He takes off running into the woods, my legs swinging back and forth against his chest. He nears the edge of the cliff, setting my body down onto the grass. This is probably the craziest thing I've ever done.
"Ready?" He asks, his chest heaving for breath. I smile, wrapping my fingers around his.
We both take off down the cliff, the adrenaline floods my veins, a piercing scream escapes my lips. The water cradles us, pulling us into its embrace.
I slowly open my eyes, Garrison smiles under water. We go up for air, water droplets drip down his face.
The serene water and the bright sky remind me of a painting I'd done in high school.
"I love you." Garrison mumbles into my ear. He places his hand on my face.
"I love you too babe." I reply. Smaller water droplets roll from his golden skin. He pulls me close to him, wrapping his hands around my waist.
"I've been thinking, what do you think of just having a small outdoor wedding?" Garrison asks. I look deep into his eyes, so much hope and love fills his greenish eyes.
"I love that idea! We can have it in the woods, I think it's a trend now, and we can get our outfits from the place up the street." I reply with excitement. As I ramble, his eyes light up.
His lips crash onto mine. I run my fingers through his soppy wet hair.
"I'm gonna jump again, you coming babe?" I ask. He shakes his head.
"No, I'll just admire the view I got going on right now." He replies. He grabs ahold of my waist, I wrap my legs around his waist. He slowly leans in, our lips connect, he slowly moves his head.
The trees begin to rustle about in the wind, my hair flows in the wind, water droplets roll down my body. I begin to swim to the grass.
"Leah, where you going girl?" Ian asks.
"Back to the cliff, I want to jump again." I reply, he smiles.
"I'll join you!" He exclaims.
Slowly but surely, we walk up to the cliff. I look up, the suns peaked itself at the top of the cliff, the cliff hundreds of feet above us.
Leanne sits on Brent's shoulders, laughing as her skin glimmers in the sunlight. Mel sits on Jack's shoulders, pushing Leanne. Brent and Jack also push each other around, water splashes around them. As they splash water around, the guys also laugh as two chicken fights happen at one time.
"You didn't really want to jump again, did you?" Ian asks as he grabs ahold of a piece of the cliff. He's right, I didn't want to jump again. I want to sit and process all of this, my vision, the fact that I'm alive, the fact that all of us are alive.
"Why don't we go up this way?" I ask, pointing to the less dangerous way of reaching the top of the cliff. Ian nods and follows me.
"You didn't answer my question." He reminds me. I take a deep breath. Ian stops in his tracks, he looks me in the eyes, before tightly wrapping his arms around me.
"I wanted to watch the sunset, everything's fine." I explain. He let's go of me and begins looking around.
"Hey Ian, with Garrison and I getting married, we want to keep it small," I begin, a smile spreads across his rosy face. "we were wondering, if maybe you could wed us."
"You mean like be brother-husband type stuff? Because I'm not into that and Garrison can be whiny and controlling." Ian rambles. I sigh and roll my eyes.
One day my eyes are probably going to get stuck because of the amount of times I roll my eyes in a day. He is right about the whole Garrison being whiny and controlling.
"No, I mean wed us, as in getting a license to be our priest." I explain.
"Oh, yeah I'd love to. I have got to stop spending my time online." He replies, looking down at the ground.
"Babe, I'm going to be right back, for some odd reason I'm craving deer." Garrison informs me.
I begin to think, if my vision was to happen, it wouldn't be now. Garrison says something about me being in the hospital, this can't happen now.
